Here is a pic of my old baby. Dont have it anymore. 1980 K10 Long Bed. I built a 350 small block for it, edelbrock intake, holley carb, hooker long tube headers, magnaflow 3" exhaust, dynod around 350hp, 380ftlbs tq at the wheels, muncie sm465 4 speed trans, np205 t case gm 12 bolt rear, dana 44 hd front, warn locking hubs, built the axles with 3.73 gears, 31x10.50 tires, rebuilt from the ground up. Truck was a monster, was sad when i had to sell.

Pulled 14k pounds of steel to the scrap yard with it once. Not bad for a 1/2 ton truck. Never even felt it back there. Would put you in the seat from a red light and roast tires forever.

They were great trucks, but the rust would just eat'em up.

I got so lucky, not a spot of rust on it. Bought it off air force dude. He bought it when he was on the west coast.

So, a thought just occurred to me. at work we heat the deicing fluid before we spray it onto the aircraft to aid in the deicing process.... obviously spraying 200*F water onto your windshield is asking for trouble, but what if you heated your windshield washer fluid to, say, 50 or 60*F? id imagine it wouldn't be a massive enough temp difference to cause cracking/shattering, but would greatly expedite the defrosting process, and it wouldnt melt your washer fluid bottle either. thoughts?

I'd take a Ferd over Government Motors any day now. Back than Ford and Chevy were able to actually compete lol

Or just use the deicing windshield washer fluid. I've been using the Windex one because the rainX one created an orange film in my other trucks system so I won't use the rainX one any more and just use the window treatments and occasionally the washer addative.

However I must note that it barely helped with this last ice storm we had and I still had to resort to an ice scraper. But normal icing of the windshield defroster, and a little spray of the deicer and its gone lickity split.

It sounds interesting. But there must be a temp/time relationship condition to not to crack the win-shield.

I wonder if alcohol works. I would throw some vodka on it and have a shot after the job is done :proposetoast::D

It's a Ukranian Christian Church you ig'nants (architecture nerd)

@P2W a PRS build like yours is what I eventually want to get. I just want to shoot benchrest some point to learn the finer points of reloading / grouping and then I'll sell it. I'm thinking Stiller action in a XLR element or B&C stock.

Shaving cream works to prevent the windows from fogging up. Though I'm not sure if it's safe for tint.
