Bought a 2009 Tacoma X-SP where the previous owner had replaced the overhead lighting with a PS2/DVD combination. That's all good, but I lost the Door switch on the interior light panel. So now in the dark, I get no interior lights when the doors are opened. Dealer tells me that I would have to remove the PS2/DVD and replace it with the stock interior light panel.

Just looking for ideas here as to how to get some interior lighting. Removing the PS2/DVD is not an option with kids.

    TIA ...

Yes, the DVD has lights, but only with on/off switches. Just like the front reading lights, you can turn them on but they don't go off with the door being closed.

Interesting. I installed a DVD player into my old 91 4Runner years ago and I could swear that I wired it so the lights would come on when the door opened and they also had push buttons to turn on separately.

What's the make and model of your player?

Jeez, I can find no information at all on that player. If I could find an install manual, but nada.
