Pretty sure a signed deal and contract that they would have had to honor it if you took it to court. But total BS in any event, sorry know you loved it already. You'll find you something better I'm sure.

I'm Air Force and a SNCO...if you go through Navy Federal they will give all SNCO's a 1 percent rate drop. I was able to get a 1.49 % loan. Can't beat them for loans in my opinion.

Give the 'Top 3' a 1% drop.... seems like it should be 'First 6' to help the guys that really need it. But I agree, it's gonna be hard to beat 1.49. Considering all my banking is through USAA and I love their customer service.... I'm happy to stay with them.

P.s. Thanks for your service! I'm at Hurby.

Reverse socialism. Makes up for all the times I paid more money at the child care center than a junior enlisted person. higher monthly dues at the NCO club and all that stuff. :)

I'm at Shaw. I'm a long time member with USAA as well but they couldn't beat that rate. I love them for all my banking and insurance needs though. Credit unions always have amazing rates. Wish I could get to Florida. Been trying for years. It's just not in the cards.

That's the same setup I got. I don't really need them to get in but my shorter friends love them and I love the way they look. Took me about 30 mins to install and I lollygag around when it comes to working on vehicles.

This makes me hate dealers even more... Do you know the bank that got you the 5% rate? I'm sure if you call them and get a direct loan through them, they would give you the same interest rate as before.

Not really. Depends on the paint color and how many stages there are. On my '15 WRX (pearl white) I had a small chip on the bumper, and was quoted $1200. I went to another shop and paid $700 after removing and reinstalling the bumper myself.

My bet is you're looking at over $600.

unfortunately, there is a clause in the contract that says if they cannot get funding - they can reneg on the deal.

Yep that happened to me in 2012. I said you can have the car back give me my trade in and downpayment back. They made it work.

The deal I signed for the Taco was finalized and I did not have any paperwork that said they could change terms after it was signed.

My dealer's loan was through Chase. Dealer give me 3.9 with a 720 credit score. Called Chase a few days later after receiving loan documents and got a new rate 2.9. Then knock it down to 2.84 with their autopay.

There is some GREAT advice on here about USAA and Navy Federal. I'm 25 plus years and still active. I hate to see a veteran get taken advantage of. "HATE IT!". I ended up going with NFCU simply for the rate, but I did ALOT of shopping and looking. My advice to you would be use the USAA New Car/True Car buying program. You should qualify easily and the USAA membership is free as is the NFCU. Either way, get the lower rate through true car, go back to the same dealership and get the same truck for a MUCH lower price and rate.

I can't believe they can do that! Once it is signed, I thought the deal was locked. I would have told them to keep looking because my contract is signed to that interest rate. They can pay the difference since they signed to that rate. That is complete BS

    This.

I used the USAA service pricing my pavement princess, and the dealer accepted it even though they stopped accepting TrueCar. Funny thing is that it's the same service.

Yep. Similar thing happened to me.
Salesguy got his aerobic exercise, walking back and forth to whomever he saw in the back room. I was prepared, with quotes from several "buying services", including TrueCar and USAA. Dealer agreed to the TrueCar price (it was a few bucks above the USAA TrueCar price, but I did not need to print out a certificate, and did not want to drive a bunch of miles round trip to/from the dealership again).

Then came the negotiations for the dealer fees, etc etc, as well as the trade-in.
They lowballed my trade-in, but I found a third-party buyer, and hopefully will get the SR5, in the color of my choice, next week or so (Ordered earlier this month - I had a minimalistic build, so I could add stuff at a cost lower than OEM later, and they had to modify their allotment to keep me happy).

    Bottom lines:
    * Go prepared! Have as much written documentation on current prices as possible.
    * The Tacoma is very much in demand. One SR5 I was looking at was sold the day I arrived to test drive it!
    * Do not expect to get as good a deal as some members have mentioned here, but you can try.
    * Be prepared. Wander off to get a drink or visit the restroom and gather your thoughts ... rest up so you can negotiate effectively, but the Tacoma is pretty much a seller's market.
    * Third-party goodies are usually MUCH less expensive than OEM add-ons. Look at CaptAmerica's build for an excellent example. Save some bucks by staying minimal, and adding stuff yourself, later.

Be careful, don't let the dealership pull your credit. Every time a dealer pull your credit, it's a ding on your score. Only allow them if you have an agreement.
