The fog lights are fairly easy for HID conversion. Don't follow the suggested directions from the owners manual. Just take off the front grill and the side plastic air dams. Then you have plenty of room to switch the bulbs and mount the ballasts. Literally two bolts and two push tabs for the grill, one push tab for each air dam (left and right from the radiator). Good luck!!!

What kind of hid kit are you using for the fogs?
Do you have them wired to the battery just like for the low beams?

I bought them from iJDMtoy in SoCal. They always have promo codes and I was able to get each kit for $74 shipped. 100% satisfied with the quality. Both lows and highs are direct plug and play and don't need to be wired to the battery. (Sorry OP for crashing your post with another brand that's not Morimoto).

We don't have any grommets in hand yet, so no I unfortunately can't sell anything I don't have in hand. I would try to swap the OEM grommet if it's been a concern.

All installed and yes, the shake is there...

So far only drove it at night while in town and it was very obvious when directly behind another car and going over any type of bump or even mildly rough pavement.

So I grabbed the back of the bulb and jiggled it.... The projector moves in the housing.

    Possible source of the shake?

Possible, yes, but the bulb can't be impossibly tight in the projector anyways as you'd never be able to change it out! :)

I think he meant Toyota's projector housing itself moved in its mounting location, not that the bulb moved.

    @AFMurse2014 - is that right?

If so, new grommets won't solve the shake. Anyone else with an HID conversion (mine's still in the box :() able to check how solidly the housing is mounted?

Andy, that's beautiful! Any chance you remember the dimensions of the mount and what thickness aluminum (I assume 6061) you used?

I'm planning my install now and would love to piggyback off your solution!

    You are correct.

The Projector Lens itself moved when I grabbed the back of the bulb. Took a little bit of force, but I am sure it would contribute to the problem. Still more isolated to the passenger side.

I was thinking about swapping out just the fogs for now, since the HID kits seem to have this bounce issue still ... I really want yellow fogs, I've found that those are a lot more useful in heavy snow fall, and I liked how the morimoto kit has the option for a yellow film ... I pretty much only run my fogs when the weather is shit, so how weird would it be to have just the fogs upgraded and still the factory halogen projectors?

I bought the T- brackets from HD (located in the builders hardware department area where they keep all the galvanized brackets) for $3

I'm fairly dissapointed in the kit I purchased. The 6500k with 50w ballast are still very blue and do not match the DRL or the XB LED fogs.

I suppose I will need to purchase the 5500k bulbs for it to match.

Also, I am getting high beamed by nearly every car I pass at night after installing them. Has anyone else had this issue? I am going to reaim the low beams and the fogs, but I thought I wouldn't need to.

@SearArtist I have 55w 5500k. It super bright, but I never got flashes by other driver. The only complaint is the bounce.
I thought about getting the led fog from trs, but get a $20 led fog from autozone and give it a try. still waiting for the bezel from the dealer.
