Try crawling under your truck first, maybe then you'll understand what's going on.

I read the first few pages and the last. That was enough. Most people would take 5 minutes in their driveway before taking the time to take their truck to the dealership. Especially hiring a lawyer before looking at the problem for themselves. I would have expected a guy who drives a deuce and a half would lean that way as well.

Sorry, you must have me mistaken for someone who gives a fuck what you think. I don't start wrenching brand new vehicles that I know nothing about. I get what I paid for instead.

You're a bit of a dick. Especially for a Canadian. Anyway... welcome to TW. Enjoy your litigation.

from what i remember during my Lemon process a few years back with GM, once you get a lawyer involved they cant deal with you directly anymore. Everything begins being handled by the lawyers at that point.

Also, a lot of Service Advisors have zero mechanical experience. They are hired to write tickets and provide customer service, not be the diagnostician.

Have you considered a trade with that silver TRD, similar to what this member did:

I was thinking the same thing. Could be faulty from the factory? An easy fix if the dealer can handle looking at it.

This is probably the shittiest advice you could give the guy. Do something like this and they'll be leaving him with a written "could not duplicate concern" and "where's our loaner" letter in the mail. At least the service manager is "trying" to help him at this point. Don't blow it all to hell.

It has the same shift setup with the same type of bushings.

Well, I got fed up with the prospect of spending the entire weekend thinking about this, and decided to grab the truck and just take this up with Toyota Canada through a different dealership. Tomorrow I'll get some video, but the shake does not seem to be anywhere near as bad as it was. The letter from my lawyer must have been enough to get the truck up on a hoist, and they must have found a loose bolt somewhere, cause now my shifter responds like the one in the videos above. Woooohooooo, finally! The dealership aint saying anything, of course. Whatever... I won't be back there ever again! Hopefully this is over now.

Thanks everyone for the help. I'll upload a vid tomorrow and see if you guys agree that this is now within spec.

I highly doubt they fixed the problem but didn't want to inform you. 'Oh hey look, we just fixed the issue but we want you to continue to hate us so we didn't tell you'.

Was your truck in a different location when you picked it up?

Could you post a video of this? I'm curious to see. I have a MT OR and the shifter moves around. That's normal to some extent because the transmission is basically fixed to the chassis and the body will move side to side in turns or over bumps. It doesn't move an extreme amount though, maybe an inch or so either way. I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow and report back, maybe get a video over some of the rougher patches around here to show you what it looks like.
