I always try to scrape out the dirt and crap first then tap in a hex bit socket all the way in with a hammer then ratchet out and haven't had problems with stripping them out

Unless a previous owner rounded them out , they're badly corroded, damaged, or trying to loosen with an Allen key, then they strip real easy

What if I was planning on getting longer bump stops? Would that be ok?

I use a socket and have had one strip out and had to help another member remove his. Both were difficult to remove even after welding bolts/nuts onto them. I'm sure @Blackdawg can share his issues even with the diff removed.

Brutal, now that you mention it I vaguely recall reading about someone in this thread a while back about having to use a welder on drain plugs, might've been him. Sucks when that happens, I'll count myself lucky I haven't had that problem so far ha

Halfway through my lift kit installation. Got the front end finished, and the back end is up on the jack stands with the wheels off and all of the bolts are soaking with penetrating oil overnight.

If you have a welder it's usually not all that difficult to remove one, kinda just a pain in the balls. I've been meaning to turn some of my own with low profile hex heads.

LOL, all you would see right now is how crowded my garage is. Stupid HOA won't let me do the work in my driveway, and half of my two-car is taken up by my workbenches. Sometimes it feels like I'm trying to build a ship in a bottle. Pictures outside when it's done tomorrow afternoon, promise.

No prob, I know the feeling. My HOA is brutal about some stuff and super lax about others. Garbage cans and mailboxes are regulated and watched like hawks but I could build a 50ft statue of my junk in the driveway without anyone batting an eye.

I live on a cul-de-sac, and there is a large piece of empty land out in front of my house that looks like it is just part of the empty space in the cul-de-sac, but it's actually part of my lot. Someday, when I have about $25,000 burning a hole in my pocket, I'd like to build another detached 2-car garage out on that piece of land, just for workbenches/storage/etc. That would make my life so much easier.

That'd be really cool. I'd like to have a large shop space one day. My neighbor has been battling the city to let him put up a shop building on his extra space but there is some bylaw that everything is hinging on.
