Okay, I would have figured that with elevation loss and the supercharger on the 4runner it would be about even. Guess not!

Yep it goes and it's smooth..fi to drive and vibration free. I didn't know about vvti when I bought it. But I bought it from the 2nd owner whose daddy had fixed it up for her in AZ. It is rust and leak free and the engine is clean. I think it had 123k when I bought it in 2012 for a song. It had a few downsides,,it's black and has a 5" DB lift, but purrs and runs perfectly fine for work. Plans in the works to get rid of that the DB lift and use it a little more.

It is kind of annoying when I have to drive to Denver and what not. I usually get about 280 miles out of a tank driving highway. I am sure that is going to go way down once I get lift and tires on it.

    Yeah the front looks sweat!
You want it for catching water when you go for a swim? I don't think the salt water would be good in there either
The Tundra we have is AC and non-vvt-i and that thing sounds like it performs the same. Lots of torque and power. I'm up at 7500 feet and it performs great even in limp mode.

Since I'm still under my parents roof, I convinced my dad my CV's were considered a maintenance item so I think he may cover the cost for me :D

I should do that except I don't live with my parents. It's probably worth a shot...time to ask my mommy.

That's who I plan on ordering mine from, all I really need is a reboot though so not sure whether or not just to tackle the task myself

Exactly, do it seriously once and just work on it from there. Hope the reboot with the red boots gets me a good life's worth and maybe buy a used set of oems to use as a spare if need be

The grease mess sucks. Just spent all day playing with my driver side hub. It was awful. Hopefully I packed the bearing properly and I never have to go in there again :bananadead:

Thank you Sir...I'd greatly appreciate it. Been wanting to do this for a while.

I just contacted a shop that fabricates aluminum tanks for race cars. I gave him the dimensions of our spare tire area...I mention it was for my 4Runner...he quickly stated he doesn't make tanks for vehicles earlier than 1985 that are still on the road?? Anyone know why?? I can't stand our little bitty 15 gal tanks!! Sucks only being able to cruise a couple hundred miles on the freeway between fuel stops.

That's why you swap in a 2UZ into your 4Runner and have the best of both worlds!!

@ramonortiz55 sorry bro..didn't know it was your bday?!? "Happy Brithday"!!!!!!

Also, Could you give me the name or link to the place you sent your CV axle to be rebuilt?? How did it go? We're you happy with what you got back? Worth the money???

    Thanks...

I would guess because in many states there are safety inspections and they wouldn't pass. Also probably a liability thing as well.
