Ended up doing mine last week. Took about 5 hours from start to finish. Used krylon black fusion paint. I couldn't find he 3m sealant anywhere so I found a waterproof silicone sealant and it worked great.

I have to admit this mod was slightly nerve racking in the beginning but overall I'm really happy with it.

Anyone wrapping there handles in paracord? See plenty of paracord handle replacements but they look unfinished to me do to the handles being molded in the way they are and then removing them. I like the idea of wrapping (braiding) the originals. picture_php_pictureid_42521_91faee45db883ec041bd586b9cc5819a3065635d.jpg

Thanks for sharing. I'm currently doing this to fit a full 33" spare under my truck. I hammered those guides down and went ahead and chopped off my exhaust after the muffler and installed a turn-down tip. Will be putting the spare on today.

This might have a residual effect on your oven... Making any food cooked in there taste like rattle can smells... Just a guess, tho.

Does anyone know this "code" for 2010 taco? Tried this method, but it didn't work for mine.

EDIT: I tried it again and it worked!! I must have missed a step somewhere the first time. Great post. Mine is the 2010 Taco, crew cab 4x4, TRD Sport.

I just did this on my 09 base coma. I did not get the "B-on" or "B-off", but the chime is now off. This is truly THEE best mod out there. OOOPPPPSSS, did not take. chimed was back on this morning.

I know, I know. This is an old topic and can't be THAT difficult, but I haven't seen this addressed in the threads... Who has Daytime Running Lights -from the factory- and has done the alternating blinker mod? How does it differ from the instructions in the TOC #45? Do I use the unused, third spot on the dtrl/blinker?

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I didn't see where this was addressed, specifically, and I don't wanna cut factory wiring and it be wrong! Tia!
