Yeah, @dtaco06 said he might give me his mag mount when he gets his new one. As far as mounting goes I think I do want something that can just stay outside the car so the drifter mount is probably the way to go. Besides the fact I'm lazy, i do go pretty fast offroad. There have been times where I was up in the 70's range. If I'm not mistaken the 520 does have the PA option if I want to go that route later on. What are the weatherman channels?

I call the automated voice weather reports that some radios have the weatherman channels. There are usually about 8-10 freq that are dedicated for constant weather updates from NOAA. One of the freq is something like 162.500MHz, if I remember correctly. Usually there is a button\option that will have a "WX" so you can turn it ON\OFF.

 

If you all have hams have you done the weatherman mod on it to run a higher freq? If not I will be able to talk to you but you will not be able to respond. If you bring out a soldering iron I can do it for you it takes like 2 minutes

Haha I was the same way went a whole year with my ex not giving a fuck and finally got a weekend off and it was great but I missed the crazy little dude every minute. It felt weird not having him there. I actually caught myself looking around for him occasionally having to remind myself he wasn't there

 

Yea I know how that works right now my ex gets him every weekend at least till the 3rd and it sux cuz he can't come with us to the desert or go camping or anything which he loves so it really sux. He even asks if he can come and I always feel bad because I have to say no because his mom won't let him. That's like the worst feeling in the world
