I don't think up travel matters much on crawlers... on high speed runs, you def want up travel... but slow crawls... droop and lower COG rules

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I see the logic for crawlers. I like some up for my build that sees a lot of variety, but I guess Phil don't need it.

Completely agree. For crawling, IMO you want about 70-80% droop and 20-30% up travel.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
For crawling I want a couple of inches of up travel so it keeps the frame up out of the rocks and allows the suspension to droop out so the lockers can do the work. Lots of uptravel means my frame will ride lower and drag on more rocks. You gotta have some but I don't need 10 inches of uptravel. The tacoma had 1.5 inches before the timbrens touched and maybe another inch or so with the timbrens... but that meant with the 12" stroke shocks I was getting almost 10" of pure droop. Which for those at rock therapy saw that I could get the bed rail over my head with the tires still planted.

I think he means it doesn't look like it could do more than and inch or two of up travel before the tires contact the fenders

    Yes
How do you figure that an LC teetering on 40's like a tonka truck equates to lower COG !? I's confused ...

realitivity brother... the COG is Lower with a 2.5" lift than with a 4" lift. wasn't saying that it was a low COG in general... just relative to something with 8" of up travel
but I would venture that this ^ on 40's is a hell of a lot more stable than my truck on 33's even though my COG is lower

If he didn't rub at full bump and lock at 4" of lift, he's not gonna rub at 2.5". Bump stops didn't move.

Iirc he has like custom 3" wheel spacers so that's a huge factor in keep the tires away from the fender.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
So.... I actually did stuff to the Burrito today... after months...I mocked up the lights I got from Baja Designs... they are fucking awesome I haven't even plugged them in! They are quality. Each one should put out as much light as my 50" so that says a lot about them.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Also started ordering oil and transmission cooling stuff to get the temps back in control and avoid blowing another tranny. Also working on getting my diffs sent off and ordering parts for the front end... fucking expensive by the time you factor in new axles front and rear, brakes and bird rebuild on top of getting my 3rds regeared...not ARB Air Locker pricey but pricey non the less.
