I think the CX-5 / Escape link has been broken by this one, if I'm not mistaken.

The Mazda has a 2.5L 4-cyl with 184 HP. Not a rocketship by any means, but C/D got it to 60 in 7.7s, which isn't bad. The handling is what has impressed me the most. I've tossed it around a bit like I would my STi and it hangs on, pretty well. It is AWD, but is much like most crossovers in that it's not full-time AWD like the Forester.

We have a tires for life program as part of the purchase. I'm planning on burning through the factory tires, using the credit for a set of snows and then going with the upgraded Grand Touring 19's for summer use.

Gah, the mod bug NEVER GOES AWAY. Argh.

Here I was going to refurbish these... And give them to someone... Looks like the lower shock mount got over tightened on the compression shaft. Sheared the eyelet... Can't believe it stayed on the bolt...20160221_154853.jpg 20160221_154858.jpg

They are probably rebuild able enough for a new shaft.

That eyelet does thread on. If someone wants them and is willing to deal with them they're yours. Great shocks!

    Thanks
I had a full size a few years back and loved it.
I loved the Tacoma too. But It was 9 years old and things were starting to go bad. I have had a number of issues over the past 3 months that I got really tired of repairing in the middle of winter. Ball joints. Lca bolts freezing. Center support/carrier bearing ripped again 3 total in 4 years. My limited slip was locked squealing the tires and causing shuttering and stress to the carrier bearing. Then the coil last week and a dead battery from the cool weather last weekend.

All this while I am in the middle of renovating the house made it an easy decision. Having a gm cc with 2500 points to use plus high trade in value of the Tacoma helped too.

Getting further into the project I found my frame is shot. There's serious jacking right by the front leaf hangers. Good thing I'm due for the recall... Going to get it replaced before I weld things to the frame... Or put any of the new components on. Did the old hammer test... Crumbled.

Congrats. I traded my '10 Tundra in on a '15 GMC Denali HD Duramax diesel/Allison transmission. Got it new in October.
