There are other options, my main issue isn't that the rug doesn't extend under the rail, merely that it doesn't fit to the rail as it should.

As to is there Velcro under my tailgate piece, yes. It bows like that because it doesn't properly fit the 16 tailgate.

    Yes
Confused ...If there is Velcro under the bowed part of the tailgate piece...then how is it lifting like that ? Did the Velcro fall off ? When I got my bed rug it came with a ton of DIY Velcro to place wherever you wanted or needed it and it seems like a strip in the middle of that tailgate piece would easily solve that problem.

From the schematic found within the installation instructions on the Bedrug website for part number BRY13SBK. I may be mistaken but it appears a revision has been made to accommodate for the gap in the front bulkhead. I note the height of the bulkhead carpet is higher compared to the sides as well as instructions for 2015 and older vehicles to remove material where indicated. Also the revision date in the bottom left corner indicates 12/29/2015. I'm curious if anyone's new Bedrug came with two continuous strips of loop fasteners at the top of the front bulkhead.

When I called bedrug they asked the date of my order. The guy on the phone was convinced that because I ordered mine the second week of January that I already have the revised part.

I explained that I didn't know if mine came factory direct or through a distributor, he stated it didn't matter.

Did your Bedrug have two continuous loop fastener strips at the top and one at the bottom of the bulkhead section?

I didn't do the install, so I don't want to give you info incorrectly... But, bed rug assured me that I have the revised version.

They didnt revise their product when the actual bed dimensions changed, and they sold it to people. Thats bad business whatever the excuse is. If your happy with the fit thats good. If im going to spend $500 on sonething for my new truck i want it to look perfect, not sloppy. That tiny gap would bed rug bug the shit outa me. But thats only my opinion. Ill wait to see pictures of their "revision" which should of happened when the 2016 hit the market. They really shit the bed on this one

Received the updated for 2016 Bedrug today. It is noticeably taller at the front bulkhead and will install right up to the top cap leaving no gap. The front rail, if you have one installed, will need to be removed. Unlike the older version, the new Bedrug has two continuous hook and loop fasteners at the top instead of one. I have it out of the box, zipped, and in the truck bed now just letting it acclimate before installing tomorrow. Will post photos after the install.

Can someone explain the benefits of the Bed Rug? Back in the day in my old 93' toyota pickup I had a "carpet-kit" installed and used it primarily for camping. After a couple years it got pretty messed up and gross so I took it out.

What do you use the Bed Rug for, and isn't it a PITA to clean and keep clean? I can see using it for pets, but then again wouldnt a pet "bed" over a OEM floor mat serve the same purpose?

Just curious what people are using these Bed Rugs for.....

I've had them in my Tundras and love 'em. They're made from old plastic bottles I think, easy to clean engine grease, battery acid, dirt off by simply hosing with water. Easy on knees when crawling around truck bed for gear, etc. Stuff don't move around easily. Attach with velcro. Easy off to clean or clean in place. Guaranteed by vendor. Soft to sleep on in a pinch, THEY'RE PADDED. Hope that helps. Will buy for Tacoma, but only bottom, not sides as no need to protect painted sides of bed.

The new Bedrug designed FOR the 2016 now installs to the base of the top cap at the front bulkhead and can be used with or without the front rail. There's no gap, no stretching, and no need to do any other adjustments after the install as seems to be the case when using the 2015 and older version Bedrug on the 2016. Easy install, glad I waited.

I'm not sure about what they've changed or not changed with the tailgate fit but I'm happy with it.

So... Is it too much to expect that some would now agree that the company had been full of that stuff that makes the grass grow green by stating "the gap is by design".

Is there a new model number? Or did they resize the existing one?

    Are on the way!
Completely off topic... But, how come the tie downs up near the bulk head are down low on yours? But mine are up near the top! In a useless place!!! Wish mine were low as yours!!
