My derped wheels are stained from red clay, not sure how to clean them without being abrasive and taking the derp off. I used the graphite metalizer on mine. I will go with flat black next time.

I had to peel mine off after new tires got mounted. The process made it peel at the lip, so off it came

hey guys school me on brakes real quick..
I know for a fact I need new front Pads and maybe rotors...
The rear I have no idea, ill get them checked out..

But instead of letting the mechanic just throw what ever pads and rotors he wants on is there any better choices? That also don't break the bank? or should I just go with the car quest special?

how the hell do you need pads already ? you ride the brake pedal ?

Rear shoes will likely be fine, my junk has 260k on the rear original shoes, highway miles unloaded.

can get vented rotors and good pads on Rock Auto for $160ish not hard to do

oh, and asking a mechanic to check the rears is kind of an open invite to spend another $200+ on brakes

Ive put over 40k miles on the truck since I've had it :anonymous:
And basically, living in the mountains and traveling off the mountain a lot means riding the brakes, I try to gear down as much as possible but still its hard on the brakes...

Im good friends with the owner at car quest so should I just ask him for some vented rotors (If i need rotors)?

Im undecided if I'm going to do it my self or not honestly, got to have breaks before making the 2000 mile round trip to florida for spring break..
Also have to rewire my entire light setup before then :goingcrazy:

I actually mis-spoke on the rotors, they are already "vented" I meant to say drilled and grooved, aids in the braking performance when they heat up under heavy use.

Ughhhh. Guess tires are more important than wheels. Was it an easy removal?

    Quote for truth!!!

Good to know since I'll be in the market for new tires in a couple weeks.

I wish I knew a place where I could lift my truck and use a damn pressured steam cleaner to get all the clay out from underneath. I don't care if I get soaked, my truck is filthy.

OR if you have friend with a yard, a hose and oscillating sprinkler, drive over it and let it run pulling it the length of the truck
