Some advise to offer you. There is a thread here about things to have the dealer inspect before you take delivery. I read it the night before I picked up my truck. I printed it and brought it with me. The dealer addressed every issue while I was there to inspect. It took about an hour and a half but worth it.

What's wrong with the OEM door sill protectors? I'll have to double check, but I think I ordered those. I'm thinking about Mob Town's bolt on sliders, they look pretty stout, but probably overkill for anything I will do. They are also pretty expensive, but over the life of the vehicle they really are not that much.

Yeah, I've already started making notes of things I'm going to get looked at. I'm worried more about the ATF level, and that's on the top of my list. The hood vibration, as well as door seals around windows, and u joints too. I told my wife I'm prepared to walk away from the deal if they are unwilling to help with this.

If you decide on them send me a link I want to check out the sliders. The door sill protectors are cheaply made. Filmsy plastic ( like 1/16" thick ) , and you have to fold them down. I would not recommend them.

Yes and there is a fair amount rust under there, but every time I ispected it, it was still solid. Kinda would like a new frame.

That sucks. I'll take a look at them once I get them, and if they are crap I'll just send them back for a refund.

Here is the link to Mob town's site. I think he has a thread in the 2nd gen forum as well.

They will especially if you ask before you do the deal. I was surprised they eagerly jumped to it . We test drove it with windows down. I could not ask for more. I do not trust any dealership.

I have read the law suit was settled. I wish you well . I restored a 1965 VW convertible I used POR 15 to coat the frame . It's been 5 years and looks factory new. Great product.

I just checked the frame rust recall thread. There is a guy on there that wants to continue to use his truck to pull a 12' landscape trailer even if it fails inspection. He said Toyota offered a liablity waiver. No way would I tow with a bad frame.

I would want it replaced if I was given the option. Even if I were trading it in. They use a different supplier now HINO . They make commercial trucks.

    Howdy my night shift peeps!

Got back to the night shift a bit earlier then expected. One of the night shift guys had to take some time off the help his wife mend after some surgery. No biggie. Some extra money for me and I get to get to the night shift a bit earlier. I'll call that a win.(I get the bed to myself tomorrow). Kind of feel bad. Wife is home alone while I'm at work.(see below).

Presently, getting a new roof on the house. The contractor is rocking the project! Should be done early Wednesday before the storm gets really rolling.

Workers car got tagged. Busy street, but parking at curb is allowed.

Had a side swipe issue in the street in front of my house this evening. Mirror on one of the cars got pushed back and broke the tempered side glass on one of the cars. Glass in the street.

Contractor told me that glass will be cleaned up in daylight tomorrow.

My neighbor across the street knocked on the door of our house and insinuated that my wife needed to clean up the glass in the street. How is this my problem?

Of course I'm at work, its after dark and my wife is freaking! The neighbor said he was calling the police. Apparently he did. According to wife the police had arrived at neighbors house and have left.

I hope the police had enough sense to tell the neighbor that no one needs to be sweeping a busy road after dark.

I don't know any more details than this.

On a side note. The opposite neighbor across the street had her roof replaced last year. One of the workers roofing her house, their car got tagged as well. Both those cars had to be flat bedded out.
