My wife has been hearing this noise get increasingly worse. Its a 2007 Prius. Is this something I can fix myself? Is it expensive? The more money I save, the more I can put into my Tacoma. :)

A noise can be anything at this point. Care to share where the noise is coming from?

Damn the video did't go through. Let me try again. It's a fast paced clicking noise that sounds like its coming from somewhere behind the dash. Goes off an on whenever it likes. Nothing I do seems to affect it, its just random.

It almost sounds like a cd player trying to eject.

Damn, sounds like a woodpecker on a mission. Almost sounds like there is an obstruction in the fan.

I see a pattern here. Hope its not harder than the Tacoma dash to take apart and investigate. Thanks.

Did you check the cabin air filter? I once found a leaf that was stuck in the blower making a ticking noise.

This happened to me yesterday. Had to drop the fan to get a couple leaves out that fell in when I was changing the filter.

Tacoma's are pretty easy to get to. I'm assuming the blower on the Prius would be under the glove box as well.

It is. I just looked it up. I didn't know it had to begin with. She's had that car for 3 years so its probably time to change it.

probably a plastic fender that is folded in from when your wife backed into that shopping cart

EDIT: I heard that noise once with my truck and it was from my fender liner hitting the tire.

It sounds like a belt hitting plastic, fan that got a rock knick etc, or plastic rubbing

Well its not that because the noise occurs while staying still and hadn't left the garage yet.
