You know exactly what I'm saying. You do not need to stare at the road directly ahead while driving so why would the hood be any issue at all ?

You're looking far down the road when driving. Well, I am. You are asking for an accident.

Refresh my memory, where did I even elude to the fact that I stare 15-20 ft in front of my vehicle?

The 16' is very nice. I test drove a limited and an offroad DCSB down in palm springs with autoguide.com (too bad they aren't available in canada) and to compare to my DCLB 2011, they handle well, quieter (road and engine noise), faster (once moving, not off the line), interior is significantly better, lighting is better, tailgate EZ down / locking handle are a definite improvement (i hate when the GF or family drop the gate). Only downside, is with the sunroof, i cannot sit in the back seat without rubbing my head on the ceiling (i'm 6'4").

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I wouldn't touch a new motor/transmission combo on the same name of a vehicle. Asking for issues, stick to the <15's as they are time tested.

You're debating me because I said you don't need to see directly in front of your vehicle while driving so maybe you do, huh ?

Seriously.. you're being obtuse. You do that a lot, I noticed.

I have an idea for you.

Don't allow the kids to drive your new truck if they are incapable of taking care of it they can walk.

A little tough love goes a long way. Seriously.

When you're doing serious (or even moderate) offroading, close range visibility matters for determining proper wheel placement. You're not looking a mile ahead, you're looking 10 feet ahead. Especially if you don't have a spotter. It's a valid concern -- not laughable in the slightest.

Well as long as we're talking about staring at shit in front of you and 2nd and 3rd gens... I have made an observation recently. I no longer think that the 2nd gen DCLB is hideous. It looks decent in certain colors, some more so than others. But the 3rd gen DCLB looks terrible with its mis-matching 2nd gen cab. Just an opinion that is all. Plz don't report me

Okay, I can see that. But how many of us are doing serious or oven moderate offroading ? If the person who made that comment in the first place is talking about offroad driving, I'll ask his forgiveness.

I would say keep the money spent on a limited and just buy the DC LB Trd sport, with upgrade package if moon roof and blind spot monitoring is worth it to you. You could be all in for about 40 000 k depending on your sales tax. (I'm in Alberta)
If you want the truck for off road duties get the auto for sure. But for mostly driving/hauling I'd say the MT.

I went from from a new 12' (back then ) to a new 16' and the things I'm liking so far

    1- 50 -100km better ea tank easy.
2- Smooth motor and trans . I have the 3.5 with MT. My 2012 was auto ( really disliked it and heard new ones were similarly "programmed "). Never looking back.
    3-more solid feeling and quiter.
4-interior. -interior color looks better IMO but starting to notice harder to keep clean.
5-some customization through HU for vehicle ie. The volume level on beep when doors locked, headlight delay etc.

I wheel. I wheel alot. So to me, the view over and around the hood is very important. On that note, I have yet to drive a 3rd gen. When I do drive one, it'll be a manual so I can make sure its in the gear that I want.
