Someone is mad because I get on my phone between reps in the squat rack. Guess who isn't leaving the squat rack now?

I will say it does piss me off when someone gets done with something like the bench or squat rack and gets on their phone in between sets without getting the fuck out of the way. I've actually laid down and started benching after a guy got off the bench and started leaning up on the bar to text. He got the hint and put his damn phone up

When I was doing the 5x5 workout I would have to get on my phone after every set to log the reps. It was an app that had little buttons to push depending on if you got all 5 or not and it would then tell you how long to rest before going again. The rest was usually only 60seconds so I would never leave the rack or whatever I was using.

There's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. You touch the little circles and it puts a number in it and you tap accordingly with how many you did. If you get all 5 then it will auto fill the next workout with the increased weight based on what you did. I did it for about 6 weeks back around thanksgiving and it really helped with the squat getting more weight quickly. You can get the paid version of the app that has a 3x3 workout and other training ideas to get past plateaus. I just used the freebie and did the 5x5. Worked well enough...

I took a snap a couple days ago of a douche that sat on the bench for literally 10 minutes without moving. And I was needing to bench. I did dumbbell flat bench instead since I haven't in a while.

It's something stupid to get mad about. I am going to rest the same amount of time if I am on my phone or not. If you squat similar weight and want to work in, feel free to ask me politely. Don't come up and say "dude, are you even working out? You are just sitting on your phone. Other people actually want to do something". Attitude gets you no where with me. Show some patience, and respect and I would probably finish it pretty quickly. I would even come get you before I leave to make sure you get the squat rack. There are also 10 power racks, 2 squat machines, and 3 smith machines.

This isn't crossfit boys. You are supposed to take a breath and rest between sets.

Speaking of crossfit...there was a guy in my gym today doing something that I can only imagine is crossfit. First he was laying flat on his stomach like a star fish and then began touching his feet to his hands. Remember he's on his stomach. So he was taking is right foot and touching his left hand which was out in front of his head and then the other foot to other hand. I don't even know how to make my body do that. It looked like he was becoming possessed and was about to start climbing on the ceiling.

Then he was doing some push-ups (although I hate to call them that). He was in cobra (for those not familiar with yoga it's where everything from your waist down is touching the ground and waist up is pushed up. Like a push-up but with your dick on the ground. He was violently pushing his upper body up like a push-up but below the waist didn't move. Basically the Joe Swanson workout, so he can be super fast in his wheel chair

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Sounds like he was doing scorpions. It's a type of warmup/stretch.

That sounds like the "up dog", or what's what I know them as. They're supposed to go with that downward facing dog yoga position.

Well, my situation is that we have 1 squat rack and if me and another person are both using it (taking turns) and it's my turn, he needs to get the fuck out of the way and go look at Facebook somewhere else. I take 1.5 mins between each set, but sometimes that turns to 5 mins when someone won't move. I get on my phone between sets, but I do it against the wall or in an open space. Only an idiot would do bench press, squats, or whatever else and just stand there on their phone in someone's way who may not have all the time in the world to wait around. I'm not a straight up dick about it unless I've already said something or if it happens often. Like today, me and this guy were both doing curls. He decided to stand right in front of the rack so no one else could get to any dumbbells until he was done and out of the way. Also, when he did get done, he pulled his phone out and started up on it...right in front of the rack. I politely asked him to move and he did. It happened again and I didn't ask the next time, I just went over and reached around him to get the dumbbells I needed. Guess what? He didn't do it again.

Believe it or not, some folks are just stupid. Granted, some are newbs that don't know better, which is why I always ask politely before being a dick. If you don't get something the first time, it takes tough love.

Same goes with re-racking weights. I always re-rack weights between sets. If I see someone who didn't rerack their shit, I stare at them the whole time I'm doing it. If it happens a lot, I say something like, "my wife works here and if you need help reracking your shit, let me know and I'll go get her." If it's a newb, I'm more polite, but most of the time it's not.

I won my 3rd weightlifting competition in a row today, and I beat the other kid by 20 pounds.

Right. I do yoga enough to know most of the positions. They are great for stretches but he was doing violent motions and doing them quick with no hold at any point to actually stretch
