filled out my warranty card after an initial set up and cool down, I love this fridge, can't wait to use it!

side note, anyone else think the mounting bracket is garbage? Those little ball joints did not want to come out of the tabs, how are you even supposed to get it out? pure force?

Camped out in Death Valley this past weekend with the fridge. Awesome! Girlfriend was on the fence about the purchase but was very happy after we used it. I got a slide but didn't have time for an install before the trip, (was surprised it all shipped so fast that I was even able to use it this weekend!) so I just strapped it to the back seat. I rigged up a quick, temporary power source in the back seat. I plan to do something cleaner later, but it worked great this weekend.

Thanks for putting this together man @.45 JHP

Did you guys sleep the night in the bed like that?

You'd become a midnight snack for a big furry creature if you tried that around here. :p

Mountain lions and coyotes in Death Valley, but highly unlikely to have a dangerous encounter with either as long as you mind your own business. I worry more about snakes!

The mountain lions would have me a little worried. Although attacks from mountain lions are very rare. We have tons of them up here but I've still yet to see one up close. They are sneaky little bastards and keep their distance from you. I'm sure I've been stalked by one on more than one occasion, but luckily nothing more than that. It's bears and wolves (depending where in BC that you are) that are the most frightening. A moose will also f*** your day up if you piss it off. Bears will investigate anything if it means getting a snack. I had a bear once completly destroy a BBQ of mine, no food on it he was just licking the grill. I had to fire off some fireworks for him to leave me alone. I've also heard stories of them completly demo'ing an entire camp site (tents included) looking for food.
But there's nothing like the sound of a pack of howling wolves in the middle of the night that will have you scrambling to get inside a camper shell or up to the safety of a RTT. Wolf attacks on humans are also pretty rare but there have been cases of them going after other dogs and small children and even adults.

I got my fridge and bracket on Friday but, I think I want the slide now after playing around with the location in the truck. You guys think its possible to place another order for the slide? I'm not sure why I have to make things difficult but it seems to be a reoccurring theme with me!

One of these days I want to sleep on top of my truck on the rack. Seems like it'd be awesome for a star filled night. Heading out to Arches NP this weekend, maybe I'll try.

That would be cool. Just make sure you don't roll off in the middle of the night! What are the temperatures like this time of year?

I really like those CVT RTT's with the "stargazer" option. Probably the only way I'd feel safe overnight while looking at the stars.

I have a few friends when they go backpacking who sleep in nothing but a hammock. I'd rather pack a small tent. Although a tent realistically isn't much better at least I don't feel like I'm a hanging meat sack all night long. Lol
