Ah. Well if you're going to stop in at Creston anyway, check out Rossland. It's a nice town, real nice ski bum kinda atmosphere (check out the flying steamshovel). Also New Denver is a beautiful place to camp for a day or two.

If you're actually going to go north, like as in the top half of the province, let me know.

This was my exact fear with this design.

I've camped in the desert where the wind will shake the shit outta my truck (with me sleeping like a baby in it). I can't imaging camping with that thing opened like that in high wind. My guess is it will be ripped to pieces and then a redesign will be version 2.0. lol

I completely forgot about the wind. I was just thinking about what happens if you and the wife/g/f get a little "active" up there then BAM you are now on the ground with a busted tent canopy. I don't even like the full weight of 1 person over the hangout on my rtt. To me a pop design would seem much quicker and more efficient. You could have it so the bed raised so occupants could still stand up in the lower section.

Leppz, This is a heads up in case this happens to you...

Last weekend I took some pics of how I permanently repaired my Everest stove.

Pictured below is the internal pipe fitting where the regulator threads onto the stove.

ISSUE: When regulator is pressed in, the fitting can become dislodged from bracket making a connection impossible.

    IMG_20160220_142204_2d547125c0e29ccea82cb696ece50bcfb9c643aa.jpg

FIX: Drill hole and use stainless steel zip tie to hold fitting into bracket.

Thanks for the heads up @Crom

I always carry zip ties and tie wire with me so it'll be an easy fix if this happens to mine.

Nice, looking at picking up a Everest this spring... been going back and forth about which one to buy... I've got a $100 gift card to Cabela's but they don't sell the Everest (at least on line)... so guess it'll be Amazon, and I'll use the $100 for something else.

I am also wondering how you keep the bugs out if you have the tailgate open for cooking/hanging out, seems like you would be going to bed with a room full of mosquitos. All that aside I love the idea of the habitat, simple and light I will be certainly watching for the price list.

Interdasting. Is there not enough room on the outboard side threads that receive the regulator to put a slim washer and jam nut up against the red bracket?

What containers are those? (Black & Grey with red handles). I have some action packers but they seem to be a bit flimsy (which pisses me off for the price). Look at options to optimize my gear storage. How water proof are those?

Got them at Lowes. They were cheap enough to warranty the amount the flex they have.

I'd say 4 out of 10 on the water proof scale.

Gotcha, so basically the same is the action packers for cheaper haha. Hmm ok back to the drawing board. The rain in the West side of Oregon finds its way into EVERYTHING!
