Agreed, I had a bumper painted by him, he was quick, cheap and did a good job. One of these days I'm going to have him paint my cap but I have too many other projects taking up my money!

I like anything that stops/prevents rust!

 

Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying it out, just have to find the time to get under there. I only bought the quart so my method of thinging was to focus on all the welds since thats where I see the most rust forming.

 

It would be nice if it could be sprayed with a wand of some type to get up into spots inside the rails or tubing

 

i took the truck to nh oil in concord end of fall, and i've been touching up spots with cosmoline weathershed here and there

 

What did that run you?

 

I'll take a better look at it tonight when I get home to see how it can be applied. I'm thinking its probably a thick product but Like you said if it could be sprayed that certainly would be ideal.

 

Trading the truck every few years seems to have worked for me.

Certainly cheaper than buying a new one every year or three....

 

You also avoid other major maintenance / breakage items by trading also, not just a clean frame. Vehicles aren't made to last like they used to be, things are designed to break or fail and vehicles are getting more and more complicated to work on. Sometimes it's cheaper to stay on top of it and trade it in every few years to avoid all that crap.

I think vehicles aren't any less reliable or don't last as long as they used to, it's that they've gotten more complicated and people have gotten lazy. It's easier for most to get rid of it than deal with it. No one wants to take the time to keep a perfectly good vehicle driving when the next year's model has an espresso machine in it...And that's the problem, when cars are marketed like underwear, no one wants to keep a year old smelly skid stained pair of skivies.
