Impressed with my Prerunner

I've had it since 2005 but never had a chance to see what it's made of as a 2WD. So after I put on the new tires and got my 5100's I finally had an opportunity to get it in the great outdoors!

Scene is a military range on Fort Hunter Liggett in Cali. I was supporting an operation and took the opportunity to take advantage of some great offroad terrain.

Pix are from the river crossing...didn't get a pic of the deepest part (about 3ft in a gravel bed). Truck performed awesome. Had some high speed trail runs in medium gravel and super high speed on the main dirt airstrip. Very happy with the performance of the 2WD!

 

I like those pictures. I probably wouldn't take my Prerunner through something like that since I don't have the off-road options like yours does.

don't be afraid to drive your truck man! Iv got no locker and still pile through some shit with my open diff its meant to have fun with!

I went through stuff similar to that.

 

no locker...I forgot . I was too excited to find the river in a crossable condition. Frankly, I never really felt like I needed it.

Fort Hunter-Liggett is about 20 miles west of King City and one ridgeline from Big Sur to the West.

 

There seems to be something wrong with your front license plate.. hm..

thinkin about taking off the front plate all together but I like to think the cops say "at least he has something". We have that damn front plate law here!
