That's a good rule of thumb anyway. I've been doing that since I've started driving... a loooooong time ago. :D
People have dirty cars with dirty windows, bad wiper blades, poor sight, etc. Just a good idea.

Not sure about the GB limit, but I understand it's something like 9900 songs.

I'm currently running around 3500 with no issues. Complete artist, song, album, and album art.

The truck MP3 player has certain constraints:

    • Maximum directory hierarchy: 8 levels
    • Maximum number of folders in a device: 3000 (including the root)
    • Maximum number of files in a device: 9999
    • Maximum number of files per folder: 255

Plays MP3, WMA and AAC files only

Just go to your iTunes Media folder on the computer and copy the folders you want to the stick. The USB in the truck will read everything just fine. No need to convert anything.
    AAC files are iTunes.

To add the quality of the music is 10 times better than HD or XM in my opinion

Use 3/8 socket head cap screw for a leaf spring center bolt/pin.

I'm sure some of you are asking yourself why. I just installed an icon stage 2 lift and after I installed the leaf pack I realized I was overlapping one of the rivets so I took it back off to remove the rivet and went to reinstall it. Well in the process I managed to destroy the low grade (grade 2) center bolt and nut. I called around for a new bolt and found it was going to be a 5-7 day wait. The bolt worked perfect and I replaced the low grade steel with a hardened superior product. Plus I have read where some have wanted to put their overload spring back in and realize they have cut their pin too short to add the additional leaf. When I measured the differences in head sizes. The socket head cap screw is .010" bigger. Still leaving tons of clearance to fit in the locator hole on the axle.

Not sure if this is mentioned; but for those with push start trucks, if you walk up to your truck w/o touching anything, the interior lights will turn on by themselves as you get near the truck. Not sure how it took me a month to see this.

For the USB drive, all of my files are all Apple MPEG-4 Audio, but it's only playing the music that I downloaded from iTunes, NOT the music I ripped directly from CDs.

The CD-based music shows up in the directory list of all songs just fine, but when I click on a specific song, the artist name, album title, and song are blank.

    Any ideas?

All music I have (130gb) is in my iTunes library. That library puts the tags on the files (artist, album etc.) without those tags, you will only get the raw music file without the goodies.

I actually copied all of the files from my iTunes library - they play fine through iTunes and even directly from the USB stick on my computer when iTunes is closed.

I'll play around some more and see if I can get them working...

Here's a screen shot of some of my music files. I just copied the folders I wanted to the stick.

That's how I did it... maybe because I'm using Apple lossless format.
