No never. Must wait and do Icons.

I'll shoot Chas a message next time something arises. I exchange PM's with him quite often and he likes most of my posts on T4R so I'll see what I can do. I'll shoot you a PM in a sec as well

@ramonortiz55 i am really amazed at how big the CVT group buy is getting. I mean the fact that someone can find and consolidate almost 100 buyers is incredible. Going to generate $100,000 in sales. Curious if you guys get anything at all or even try to get any type of angle on it?

I imagine you guys considering getting sliders built realize there's a difference in materials. I have Stubbs HD-SKO's. They are made of DOM and are much stronger than the less expensive ones. I have used them hard and even dented them. I probably subject my truck to more than the normal driver though. Point being if you don't really need them then you could save some money and weight on thinner ones.

We are indeed. With the ground clearance I do have, I don't need anything too strong/bulky/heavy for anything that I do. Especially with most of my off-road driving being on the beach. For the trails that are "local", none are too technical, most you can do in a stock vehicle or something with a minor lift-it's honestly more about the scenery provided I do want something there as far as protection if something does come up but would also like to have something angles to be somewhat as a useable step. I'm not sure how practical that is without it looking off or without the predator step design but I'm sure we can figure something out.

That's something else I was thinking. I've heard people say using a slider as a step..that just doesn't work. The only time I ever would step in my slider is climbing back in from above off a rock or trying to stay out of deep snow. The sliders are just to high for a step. If I stand on my slider my sternum is right at the roof line. You'd kind of have to crush yourself in a knor to stand on a slider, not hit your head and not have your knees hit the steering wheel while climbing in.

Seriously you could become well known among vendors. Actually you may be a robot created by one of them to get all our money. Has anyone ever met you in person?

Practicality of it being double as a step is definitely out there, especially at being 6'4". Standing on it would be totally antiproductive for be but with that being said, I don't have a problem getting into my vehicle at all. I have seen a few people try and make a slider into a step and it looks awkward and out of place. Almost like there's a body lift gap. And with that being said, the functionality goes out the window with it not being where it should be with proper supports.
I do love the look of a slider but also don't want to throw that much money into something for pure look and no functionality, especially when it's sole purpose is to be functional versus appearances.

Edit: One thing I do know it will be helpful with is loading stuff on the roof. Throwing kayaks and surfboard bags up there does get very old very fast but I could also throw my running boards back on if I was going pure functionality. Damn I hated my running boards though

Exactly, I use mine for this...
    1) when rock crawling and I need to stop and get a look. Sometimes can open the door and stand on it to look over the edge before you drop in.
    2) when accessing the roof rack
    3) smashing on rocks
    4) to walk on in deep snow
    5) to dirty up my pant leg just about every time I get in
    6) to kinda hop over every time I get in or out of the vehicle
    7) to repaint because they constantly get scratched and marked from rocks
    8) they look expo though

So I think there are some sacrifices that are made once they go on. It is not as easy getting in and out. If you have a wife though she likely will want to drive it less. Which may be a good thing.

We used my sliders as a step for the wife and kid. Granted mine were welded on flat due to the stupid limited flares, but they worked. My daughter used the kick out all the time but it got sketchy with the big whole.

I do agree though if your sliders are angled at all they are too high and won't work. I plan on adding sliders to the Tundra and using as a step but I will be laying them flat and plating them.

No wife (only 20) but definitely a girlfriend that keeps wanting to drive it, especially in the summer. Only thing is, I don't trust her driving too much... Hoping this is a cling to cause her not to want to in any way possible

My son uses my sliders as steps everyday! I had Shrockworks build them where they laid them a little bit flatter...they work great. Come to thinking of it, my mom uses them as a step too. She pulls herself up on the sliders then gets in. She says I lifted the 4Runner too high...wwhhaatt!! I didn't know you could lift a 4Runner too high...haha!!

Hey you have a good point!! He might just be a robot built by all the 4Wheel drive companies to just start GB's to suck out all our money!! It's worked on me! I use to have a savings account with money in it. But every since I joined TW and met up with @ramonortiz55 ....gone...all my money is gone!! Have a great looking 4Runner...but no money!?!. Damn you Robot Ramon...hahahaha!!
Haha...this list is very true...sad but true!! Especially getting your pants leg dirty every time you get in or out...lol!! :)

That's because you have an awesome 4Wheeling Robot wife. The 4Wheeling companies checked there demographics and noticed a lot more women like @MTgirl were seriously getting into 4Wheeling...so they built you a robot wife to promote more GB's...making sure they get everybody's money!!! Damn you robots!!

See more proof...women are getting into 4Wheeling!! Now more Robot Women...Robot Ramon will be having a baby girl Robot next....it's all a conspiracy...hahahaha!!
