Its a truck not some high performance sports car, there's going to be some slight rattles.

yup. but I'm an easily annoyed OCD nutbag, not a care free soul, so I'm still going to try to fix them.

if you have a moonroof, check the wind deflector area and make sure the foam piece that the metal sits on when closed is the correct size. if its not it will rattle in the closed position.

Recently in another vehicle we found the cause of a rattle was the garage door remote :anonymous:

Still parts are made of plastic and there isn't much anyone can do to eliminate every small rattle. It doesn't help that they made the inside of the cabin so much quieter over previous generations which makes these seem "worse". I can here my stuff in my center console and glove box shift around when I drive.

I'm far from a care free soul and have a good dose of OCD myself ;) Like I said earlier they made the inside of the cabins so quiet that you here every small thing in them now (like stuff shifting around in the glove box). I fixed the only big rattle I had. For all of the other tiny squeaks and rattles that take the starts to align to recreate I just turn on the radio and enjoy the truck. Having more aggressive tires help a lot too!

Mine was coming from the passenger side speaker cover more so in the morning. Took it off and put 3M double sided tape under the corners and it went away.

Yeah I was too afraid of breaking the clips to remove the cover so I just wedged black auto carpet in there to make it stop.

Unfortunately I did break one of the clips taking it out. The one closest to the pillar snapped right off with ease. Definitely have to be careful taking these out.

I'll just leave the carpet :rofl:You can only notice it if you're looking for it. If anyone else has the problem the black carpet out of the 2014 Tundra is almost a perfect color match.

Thanks for the suggestion NoDak, unfortunately I don't have the moonroof.. I think I'll try the "carpet wedge" first, and if that doesn't work the speaker grille is next.
Wait, maybe if I clear-bra my whole dash... :anonymous:

no problem. we have a moonroof and the metal wind deflector was rattling when closed. apparently early models the foam resting piece was too small and was fixed in trucks a few months after production started.

the Toyota tech took a pic of ours and compared it to a model on lot that came a few months after and the foam piece is bigger on later production models.

My truck had the noise/rattle @ around 18k-23k rpm. So I took the truck to the dealer, they took off all the dash trim cover and put felt pads under.

Well, I removed my glovebox shelf again. It's definitely sounds like its coming from my passenger door panel. Gotta look up how to remove the door panel, its seems different from my 2nd gen.

Super easy fix for this.......get a flat rubber bungee cord. Cut the hook ends off and slide it down between the windshield and dashboard. FIXED MINE !!

My last car had a rattle that sounded like it was coming from the back and sometimes from the dash. Ended up being crap in the center council rattling around and the noise revirbirated throughout the cabin.
