Hey everyone, new to the forum. I've been lurking for a while now and now that I finally am a owner of a 16 taco trd sport I had a question.

Is it frowned upon to give your trd sport a off road look? Nothing too agressive..

    Thanks

You'll get 10 different opinions on this here, but luckily the advice given so far is solid. It's your truck, your money, you drive and look at it everyday, do exactly what makes you happy. There are a ton of sports on here that have been turned into full on rock crawlers without the blink of an eye.

+1 its yours man, make it how YOU want it  but, before you do something, research the crap out of it, worst thing to do is to do something cool, and then want to do something cooler, and be wary of the irreversible mods, like cutting your truck, or painting something you may regret. Have fun, make it yours

The guy I bought my 2016 TRD Sport wheels off of was in the process of giving his a truck a more off road look (lift kit, off road trd wheels, etc.). I personally thought it looked really good.

I just bought color keyed bumpers that make my truck resemble the Sport instead of the Off Road I have. Don't like all the chrome!

On this site it's not frowned upon, it's almost expected. There are thread after thread of people trying to make their sports and off roads look more aggressive. Even off road owners trying to make their off roads look like off roads. You should have seen it when Toyota came out with the TRD Pro and now everyone is lining up to order a Pro grill!

    Have fun with it!

The best way to give your truck look like an "off road" look is to not buy mudflaps, or take them off if you have them. This will leave the side of your truck constantly covered with mud. I was told by the dealer when I bought mudflaps from him is that they don't put them on the Off Roads is because a lot of people think a truck isn't "manly" unless the side of the truck is covered with mud. I had to chuckle. He is probably right. Personally I got tired of a hand full of mud when ever I touched the door handle.

My Off Road came with them. May just be a 2016 thing or a dealer specific thing.
