Looking for TRD Skid Plate

    I'm looking for a slightly used aluminum TRD OEM skid plate for my 09 Prerunner. Toyota part number is
    $233 PT21235075 Front Skid Plate
    PT21235075. I found one new online for a 196 bucks delivered but thought I'd check the used market. I live in Maryland, zip 20653.

    I think I have what you're looking for. I replaced my 06 TRD Sport Aluminum skid with RCI skids last summer. You're just looking for the plate yes?

    Yep just the plate, I assume that I can just drop the old steel skid plate and swap it out with the aluminum plate.

    Technically you stack them, leaving the black splash guard/skid plate still installed.

    Though I took mine off the other day without ill effects, it sits closer to the lower valance than it did before, but that's about it.

    I don't know why the Toyota install instructions say to leave the black piece installed, but they do.

    So the aluminum plate fits over the black steel skid? If so that's one less thing I have to worry about!

    Yeah, you remove the front 2 bolts and loosen the rear 2 bolts, slide the aluminum skid onto the rear bolts and let it hang. The black skid is supported by some metal hooks up front so it doesn't fall, and the aluminum skid is supported from the rear (it has notched openings for the rear bolts). Then you thread the bolts through the front holes in the aluminum skid, into the holes for the black skid, and then into the mount and tighten it down.

    No, the aluminum replaces the black steel one. There are 2 brackets pre installed on the aluminum skid plate with 2 new bolts. You reuse 2 of the original bolts.

    Aka black skid/splash pan.

    I took mine off last weekend. Only thing I don't like is how much closer it sits to the lower valence (like I said above), but it does look nicer with less of a gap in that area.

    Of course now when I get backed into at the drive thru again it'll just shove the skid into my bumper cover that much more than it did the first time.

    Super easy. Lining up the bolts through both skids was the hardest part of it, something that was easy when I removed the splash pan. Assuming the holes in both skids didn't line up very well the first time.
