Has anyone added a 12 Volt outlet to the truck bed. If so, pictures would be great along with a description of how you routed the cables, etc. It would have been nice if Toyota put both the 120 VAC and 12 VDC outlets in the rear.

I don't know where it is, but there is a thread where someone brought it and tapped it into the storage box on the drivers side. He waterproofed the box too

Why would you want 12V when there's a 120V outlet in the bed? You can buy a converter for nothing.

Inverting from 12V DC to 120V AC and then rectifying it back to 12V DC is super inefficient. There are losses every time you convert something.

Also, the 120v outlet requires the key at the very least in ACC on position. If you wired a 12v socket off the battery it would always be live.

Also, most 12v supplies, unless they are switchers do not run well on the modified square wave from the Toyota inverter.

For instance, I'd like to put my 12 volt jump pack in the truck bed and charge it while driving. Or just run some 12v devices in the back.

It also would have been a nice feature to have a 12v outlet in the back seat area, too.
