[QUOTE="Also, I am getting high beamed by nearly every car I pass at night after installing them. Has anyone else had this issue? I am going to reaim the low beams and the fogs, but I thought I wouldn't need to."[/QUOTE]

You may need to adjust the projector, look for the silver screw and turn it so that they go down. When I first installed them, one of the projectors was off (higher) than the other. I did not noticed before because of the halogen bulbs dispersing the light.

Mine are super high. At 15-20ft behind a car, my cutoff beam is well above their mirrors. I'm getting flashed A LOT by oncoming traffic too, so I will most definitely have to adjust them.

I went with Morimoto 5500k 35w and Morimoto XB LED fog light:
-Colors do not match perfect, all LED would be a better match...(looks a little different in person.."BETTER"..taken from I phone6) But still love the way it looks
-The "bounce" is present, replaced grommet with stock...only bounces when going over rough road (Not too bad, but still slightly annoying)
-Fog lights supper easy install (15-20 min)
-HID took awhile, more time to find location for mounting hardware and figuring out where to secure and run wires. Does not come with directions :( guess I could have gone online...FYI, must change (plug) from HID relay to stock headlight connection...(correct plug comes with kit) existing plug fits, but will not stay connected properly "learned the hard way"....(Also tape and secure other headlight stock headlight connection, as its not being used...don't want to get moisture inside and pop a fuse)
-Over all, very happy...well worth the money an my opinion...Looks great from the outside, and even better from the inside...visibility has been much improved, have had for more than a week. No one is flashing me for bright lights...Once I lift the truck, I will be adjusting the headlight level

Pretty sure I'm going to do the same thing with the fogs and LaminX, I really like the yellow foglights. I don't really have any issue with the headlights, just the fogs.

So the bouncing is only from the headlight projectors not the actual Morimoto led fogs correct?

Yes from headlights, I turned off fog lights and still seen the "bounce". Although fog lamps even on stock don't fit tight and will bounce...Not sure how much it plays a roll...If I were to take a guess not much from fog light

I turned the fogs on during a heavy snow fall and their throw just made things blinding ... not useful at all. By contrast I have yellow lenses on my Camry, and those are great in snow fall.

So I ordered the OPT7 headlight/foglight replacements on Amazon yesterday, this morning I get an email saying they are back ordered for 2 weeks. I have 2 options. Wait the 2 weeks with a 15% discount, or cancel the order. What are your thoughts? Should I try the Morimoto route instead? I take this as a 'sign' to maybe look at all my options again.

That's entirely your choice since it's your money. Any issues with Morimoto parts purchased from us will get handled by us directly. We have a hell of a presence on TW.

With that said, I still haven't seen any other aftermarket HID parts on the market that don't look generic as hell with a sticker slapped on.

My HID's are not generic, and they don't bounce. I run 3k for fogs and 6k's for headlights.

A quality brand new bulb will not be its true color without being broken in. With Morimoto HID capsules, this is generally 40-50 hours of actual run time. With Osrams, this is generally 100+ hours of run time to fully break in.

I have 6500K and 50w ballasts and it matches the LED fogs very well to my eyes. Admittedly, I'm not as critical as some in regards to bulbs matching up, but it still looks pretty close to me.

This is what I mean by not generic like pretty much every other aftermarket kit:

Here's the original drawings of these ballasts from a nice chap named Artur in California, who's a previous customer of ours. He got the first production set with his signature etched into them in fact.

My point with this is, regardless of the issue or hurdle ahead, there's always a way past it. Starting from scratch is sometimes required if you truly want a unique product.

LED bulbs as of right now are awesome at putting light immediately in front of vehicles, but distance / throw is often even worse than the original halogens.

There will be a new model offered by Morimoto in a few months called the 2Stroke that will be the very best LED bulb technology available right now and in a neat piston designed case:

I have no personal experience yet as far as how well this will work in the low beams. That is to be seen prior to us ever recommending it to any customers.

With that said, I'm confident you'll like the Morimoto H11 HID system in the first post. Yes some TW members reported excess bouncing, but over the tens of thousands of other Toyota owners out there using the same exact bulbs in very similar projectors, I'm certain it is not a widespread issue in the slightest.

Having been doing solely HIDs and headlight upgrades for nearly 60 hours a week for five years now, I assure you these isolated issues with these trucks and this design of HID bulbs is incredibly minute.

Do you have it in a Tacoma? Do you have a picture? Im looking forward in purchasing one kit but I don't know if 5500k or 6500k.. I like the new oem xenon lights that came in the corolla or in a f150, white with a little blue

It's not on a Tacoma, no, but it is in a projector all the same.

The new Corollas have 6000K LEDs, which are super blue. 6500K HID will be the closest possible.

Question, if the projector lens itself moves, then has anyone observed the jiggle with the factory halogens?

I myself have not seen any jiggle from the factory bulb. But perhaps it's there but it becomes more pronounced with brighter light?

I only had my halogens for the ride home so I don't know for sure. But I think the cutoff is way more pronounced with the huge surge in lumens.
