Haha yeah you're right about that. If they need a reason to stop you...they'll find it. I have been on a few ride-a-longs with the sheriffs dept and what I learned was it's basically illegal to drive haha. We literally did a U turn to go speeding up behind a car that wasn't speeding or doing anything wrong but the officer knew the vehicle belonged to a big time drug dealer....so he stayed behind the car until he found a "legitimate" reason to stop him...Once he noticed the month and year stickers on his tag were partially covered by the skulls on his license plate cover...he flipped on the blue lights and the car took off running from us.

And then they take the insurance money and buy a sweet new TV for the house and maybe a couple of subwoofers for the car.

Nope, Toyota recommends 10,000 mile oil intervals. It was serviced at 5000 miles but that was just checking fluids and rotating the tires and what not. I was completely against it since I was always used to changing my oil every 3000 miles. I purchased a brand new 2012 Camry in 2012 and that's when I first heard the 10,000 mile oil change. I tried to get them to change it to 5000 but they kept explaining to me that it would be a waste of money. IDK how I feel about but ill be trading this one in on a 2019 Tundra when the time comes so I'm not that concerned with longevity on this one. I think if Toyota recommends 10,000 miles then 10,000 miles it is. lol.

In Canada it's always been 8000 KM between changes as far as I know. They didn't recommend 10,000 miles in 2005 for the same engine did they?

Maybe they are confusing it with the 2016's?

Wow, 8000KM? that's 5000 miles. Are you sure they changed the oil when they completed the 5000 mile service? I thought they did also on our 2012 Camry but when I got home and started looking at the ticket I realized the oil change wasn't on there. That's when I called them and started investigating the issue. I have spoke with the regional director of Toyota Motor Company and he assured me that 10,000 miles is the service intervals for all US Toyotas. I double checked at my first 5000 mile service on my Tacoma and they said the same thing it's 10,000 miles. I am not sure about the 2005 models. It Seems like a lot but after talking to Mercedes and BMW, they do 15,000 mile oil changes on them so I guess 10,000 isn't that bad. lol
