If you get a good etch with the acid they supply when you buy the epoxy, you'll be ok. My floor just didn't want to etch.

As KB stated, hot tire pick-up is when a painted/stained/epoxied coating is peeled off of the floor after the vehicle has been parked on it for awhile, particularly if the vehicle had been driven for a time prior to parking it, meaning the tires were hot when parked.
Pulling out then often can lead to this, which no coating manufacturer can guarantee against.
i even asked a rep at a home show about this, and he stated they generally tell people to put mats down where the tires will be

I just picked up a Yaqin tube amplifier and a used set of Paradigm Studio 20 speaker on eBay.

Here it all sits for some bench testing while I figure out where I'm going to put it all.

I know you are probably still deciding where to put the speakers and amp. I recommend to keep the amp on a different table from the speakers and work surface. Tubes don't like vibrations.

 

I'm designing some wall bracket for the speakers. The amp will be on a small shelf in between them. My iPad will be on something like an easel right below the amp (the iPad is my source component).

 

I really like the look and ease of installation of RaceDeck and the Costco version (motofloor?).

What I don't like is how liquids will work underneath them when spills occur, how jackstands and other heavy items can damage the tile, etc. It seems like it's ok for a park and wax event, but not for hefty work.

It's why I spec'd a polished and sealed floor in my post above. 'Cause I want one I can work on.

 

i paid 2.99 s.f. installation is a breeze.

racedeck isn't just for looks, and can be worked on. guys even place 4-post lifts above them.
if placing jackstands on them, i will use a simple piece of plywood to be safe, but i've lifted the truck many times using the jack directly on the floor.

 

How is cleanup, sweeping, etc. Can it be powerwashed?

I wish my garage was wider so that I could comfortably park both cars inside. Usually it's one car first come first serve. Unless there is bad weather. It would be nice to have it taller as well, it's somewhere between 8-9'.
I also had to run additional outlets since mine only came with 2.
If you can have them wire up multiple lights that would be an improvement over the typical single bulb.

And a shop/utility sink

 

What is your floor width (parking width) from the blue shelves to the other wall? I am starting a new garage with a very big restriction on width. Thanks

 

It's about 16' wide up to the blue shelves. 17' wide total, 20' deep with and additional 3' bump out at the front. Here are some older photos before to give you an idea.

Go as big as you can while it's the option.

 

Thanks for those numbers. Guess I'll be ok at 18' inside width. That's as wide as I can go because of property lines etc. Going with 11' high ceiling to accommodate a four post lift I have and 36' deep.

 

Very nice speakers! I'm sure the amp is nice too I just don't know anything about that brand
