You will notice I corrected myself at the end of the last post. Not trying to trick anyone here. I didn't know the tire sizes changed on the 1st and second generations. The frame is 2 feet from the ground. Truck barely fits under my 7 foot garage door.

So I'm assuming you understand what everyone is trying to explain to you where the radius of an object is concerned......If you go from a 31" tire to a 35" (as an example) although the 35" is 4" larger then the 31" you are only realizing half that size under your truck since you get 2" at the top of the tire and 2" at the bottom of the tire. Make sense? If you wanted a true 4" under your axle you would need to run a 39" tire.

No, that's 9" of diameter extra.

Any 'lift' gain is the radius dimension, ie from hub to ground.

Think of it this way. The top half of the tire isn't lifting anything.

Sorry you must have missed what I wrote earlier ----- I measured the tire on my old tacoma from the ground up and it was 27' tall. I did the same to the tires on the lifted tacoma and they were a little over 36". So that would bring the truck up an extra 9". Problem is I just remembered the tires on the old 2002 tacoma were smaller than the 2nd generation. So it is actually only 6-7 inches taller.

How do you find the steering input after you added the body lift?
I had a 3" on my truck and the steering extension made the steering a bit sketchy. Even after I checked and triple checked, re tightened bolts to spec torque.

Lift was all in before I purchased it. Steering is actually really good. Do you have an aggressive tread?

i definitely would not be as good at throwing curved sticks as you if my fingers fell off. i'd still be better at math though.

Doesn't matter. It's still only taller by 1/2 of the diameter. So if the new tire is 7" taller than the old, it's only 3.5" of lift.
