Morning all. Very angry this am with the IRS/Feds. I did my taxes last night and I owe 1700.00 WTF. I live to my means and don't carry alot of debt, my guy says I need to start being a financial jackass and rack up some debt. The way I see it is all these assholes need to reel in their spending of our tax dollars on stupid frivolous shit. Stop giving it to illegal citizens. Stop sending it overseas to countries that hate us and have sworn to kill us. Ok rant over, I will just be sitting here pissing my kid's future away

 

Yeah, taxes piss me off too. I got a raise for last year that just barely nudged me into a different tax bracket; so I earned more money last year, but I'm actually netting less.

 

Oh its infuriating, but I set up my taxes to owe about $2K every year. The way I see it, it is an interest free loan from Uncle Sam. It is nice to get a little bit back this time of the year, but if you know you are going to owe, I just divide the amount owed last year up into 12 months and make sure each month that much is put away in a separate account - helps ease the burden. Does nothing to help you now though.

The one that drives me up the wall every year is excise tax. Wife and I just got those bills yesterday from the Town and we owe a combined $800. Nice way to punish people who are doing well and like to buy nice things. The kid down the road with the 1992 Honda civic is paying $25 and my wife's newer Nissan Murano costs $350. I highly doubt the Nissan does more damage to the roads than the 92 civic does. Add onto it the fact the money collected goes into a general fund, not even a fund to maintain and improve the roadways, and my blood begins to double boil.

 

Not to be a dick, but I'd like to point out something about the bold part I added to your post. I am a "noncitizen", but am a legal resident and pay my taxes and follow the rules, so I take a bit of offense to that. Maybe you meant to say "illegals" instead, which I'm guessing/hoping that's what you meant to say.
