The holes for the studs on the bottom had to be bored out a bit to fit so they're a little oblong; however, if you look at the install instructions, the pic shows the holes drilled out 2-3 times the size of what's on the template. I'd much rather deal with oblong holes than what they show on the pic. I think the reason for the misalignment is due to the curvature of the fender to the template.

To answer your question, maybe make sure the template followed the curve of the fender better before drilling is what I'd say to do differently. Maybe you'll still have to bore out some holes, but maybe not as much as what was needed for me.

I wonder if laying out the template on the snorkel and seeing where and if they all hit would be a smart idea. Because it is suppose to be the "same" as the fender.

This doesn't bother me. Only reason I don't have "B.S." in the title is because there isn't any here.

I'm good with the BS so no worries. Especially if I can get Andrew to jump into Jakes GB for an awesome snorkel!

That would be a great idea...that's something we didn't do on mine. We thought about putting something on the studs and pushing them up against the fender to mark the holes before drilling but the part of the snorkel that goes through the fender prohibited that. Instead of looking for something longer to screw in place of the studs, I said fuck it because it looked close enough.

Also, two 4.5" holes is a good size to be cutting and the hole saw wanted to walk even with the pilot holes. Take your time there too even if it feels like a slow death.

And what part of drilling TWO 4.5 inch holes in your truck does not feel like a slow death!?!
