Tacomas are built either in Baja (Mexico), or Texas. No ocean shipping there, therefore, no port involved.

 

I heard back from the dealer last week that mine is scheduled to arrive 3/5-3/9. They were upfront with me and said it's possible that it will be before or after that date range. Apparently it's just an estimate. TRDSport, 4X4, AC, Inferno, AT, PT, All season floor mats with sill protection. If it arrives on schedule, it will be 4 weeks from order to arrival. Not too bad considering many have waited much longer than this.

The first dealer I went to because a buddy of mine works there and promised they would treat me right and not pull the same BS a lot of dealers pull. He hooked me up with the "best" salesman they have. He was terrible. Communication sucked, he kept changing his story, said he ordered my truck, then told me he didn't but found one 200 miles away that they could get for me, but it would be driven down to their dealership, putting 200 miles on the truck before I even saw it. I agreed. A week went by and he still couldn't verify that they could get the truck for me. Now I don't believe a word he says and told him to forget it. He texted me the next day saying they could get the truck if I still wanted it. I texted him back and said sure, if you're willing to knock $2K off MSRP. I never heard back from him. I went to the dealership near my house and ordered the exact truck I wanted and hopefully it will be here in two weeks.

 

Have had mine on order for a few weeks, DCSB TRD Off-Road 4x4, manual 6spd trans, Tow, Premium and Tech package in Magnetic Grey. Put $500 down to lock in order, expected to arrive April 1st, but dealer said it may be in sooner. Atlanta, GA area. Anticipation is killing me.

 

Just got my born-on-date for the San Antonio plant: 22 March

Just placed an order for a V6 MGM Tacoma DCSB TRD off road Manual Transmission. ETA 4-5 months, living on Guam. Super stoked! Dealership on Guam only carries the automatic, never been a fan of automatic trans. I'm sure the wait will be worth it and I'll be driving around the island with a rare Tacoma.

 

Finally arrived! Ordered 28 Dec and almost exactly 8 weeks later it showed up.

Quicksand TRD OR DCLB with tow package.

Here it is awaiting to go through deal prep. Hope to pick it up either tonight or tomorrow. They're also checking and topping off transmission fluid as an extra request.

 

Just got word that the truck is at the dealer. They need to install the remote start and I should be picking it up Friday morning.

Lesigh... while I'm waiting on may order... another dealer (AutoNation) apparently found one in my configuration plus chrome tip exhaust and bed lights (which I don't care for) that they can trade for and get it to me by next week... But AutoNation apparently (according to him) doesn't go below MSRP on a trade in this sort of situation.. Which sounds like a BS to me...

The kid inside me wanted to say heck yeah and go for it, but the grown-up in me told the dealer nah, i'll save 2500 off MSRP and wait for my truck...Only 10 days since order was placed.. God is cruel sometimes..

 

My 7568 build date is 3/22, delivery ~early April. Waiting sucks

 

Placed an order for a DCSB 1/30, checked a few weeks ago build date was set for 3/25. Was told it would arrive two weeks after.

Drove by dealer ship to check(i have done for last three days!) and there it was!!!! Freshly unloaded I think too. Started 11/23 and the end is in site. Post pictures later

 

Last week I was told my delivery was expected 3/5-3/9. Today I got an email with an updated delivery date of 3/2-3/7. Super excited to get it even a single day sooner than expected. A week sooner would be fantastic.

 

This thread is depressing.

I ordered DCSB OR 4x4 manual with Tech Pkg in Quicksand on 12/28. Two weeks later decided to go by the dealership to test drive an automatic and found out that the salesmen I had placed order with had quit. So there was a scramble to find out if order had been placed. They got it all hashed out and they told me the order had been placed. But I sometimes wonder if it didn't actually go in until I went back to check two weeks later.

Dealer tells me that Toyota accepted the order, but didn't give me the date when it was accepted. And I still don't have a build date. I keep telling myself its the manual transmission that is making it take so long, but then I come on here and read about the people that have such a quick turnaround on their orders. I guess those people are the exception though. Waiting sucks.

 

Sorry to hear that. I have a really hard time trusting car salesmen too. I placed my order three weeks ago. I will say that the dealer told me that they had the exact truck I was looking for already scheduled to be built, but in a different color. He said they could change the color before the build started to what I wanted. I was skeptical (and still am) but at this point it looks like it's on the way. Fingers crossed.

 

I found mine online at Toyota.com, build a truck. You put in everything you want, your zip code and it will show the results of when the truck with your specifications is scheduled for build and delivery to your area. The dealer told me that the VIN that it shows on the website will be changed when you actually purchase the truck; the VIN showed is just really an internal build number from Toyota. The dealer can still add packages to the build, because what you are looking at on the website is what is going to be built, not what is built already. Anyway, that is how I found my truck.
