Don't be fooled by our fancy modified trucks. Every dollar that goes into our trucks SHOULD be going into our savings accounts. Haha

Better to ask what I have not done.
If you use the tire calculator at the bottom of the page you will see that @chenbro has taller narrower tires then what you are looking at. I like the skinnier one because it's less frame rape and better performance image.jpg

What makes the thinner one have "better performance"? Also would any trimming be required for a 255/85/16? I already know trimming is required for 285/75/16.

Probably a little. The diameter is what make it rub on the fenders. And skinny tires are better in snow. Less air drag, and better economy, and in johns case. That much easier to brake traction.

    Here's a long write-up about it: http://www.expeditionswest.com/research/white_papers/tire_selection_rev1.html

I rub on the fender liner when turning on the trail at full stuff. You'll probably want to remove the front mudflaps, and some trimming of the plastic fender flare near the cab mount might be needed also. A lot of it just depends on the alignment.

Did you need a cab mount chop?

Added some fireproof logs, added a little bit of flame height and a decent amount of radiant heat... And it looks cool... And it was free... All around win

I thought you would want wider tires for a bigger footprint and better traction?
