Don't the doors need to be locked for the interior light walk-up function to work?

And you have the smart key system I presume? Page 597 of owners manual shows default setting is on and setting can only be changed by your dealer. Someone either forgot to turn it on. Weak battery in smart key. Some sort of interference between smart key and sensor in truck to pick you up. Not wearing lead lined pants pockets?. JK. Mine can sometimes be a bit finicky but usually light come on when I am 3-5 feet away. Do the interior lights come on when you open the door?

Yes you can. Kind of hard to find though. Go to the "Messages" app and select a recent message and the screen where you can either read it or it's reading it a loud to you there is a "Quick Response" (or "Quick Message" I don't remember) button in the bottom right. Click that and it will let you edit the 15 different response options.

But then this actually leads to the problem I've been trying to sort out all night. Every time I turn on the truck/power on the messaging app acts like I've never set it up. I have to set it up every time. I've also noticed it sometimes remembers my customized messages other times it doesn't... spent the last two hours trying to sort it out. Pretty annoyed at this point.

@ebrisse I could've sworn I tried that but it wouldn't let me edit. I'll try it again in the morning. thanks!

Hmmm, I thought you could only reply by going through Siri and there were no canned messages on Entune. That would be great if there are canned quick messages to reply to a text. I'll be looking in the AM.

Other than the fact that I think I need to take my truck in for an alignment check (after 1000 km it wanders on the highway, kinda driving me nuts), what sort of problems? The link above does not work for me.

This is me, I hate these tires right now! And tire warranties suck.

Truck is back at Toyota because of the tires. The aren't balanced and you can feel a noticeable shimmy especially at high speeds. It's weird because it comes and goes and the intensity varies as well, but it's far more noticeable the faster you drive.

Toyota has rebalanced tehse tires, then they take it out for a drive and by the time they get up to around 100 km/h they can start to feel the shimmy again. They go back to the shop and the tires are out of balance, and its not the same tire - they're all doing it.

Firestone has claimed that at the factory they use too much lube to get the tire on the rim so when you get to high speed or take a quick turn the tire shifts on the rim slightly. So Toyota was told they need to remove all the tires from the rims, clean them completely, reinstall them and balance them all over again. So they followed instructions and found the same thing happening. They even tried a brand new set of LE2s and they unbalanced on the test drive.

I just want them off my truck and put on some KO2s and make sure this isn't happening. Then you can comp me the goddam upgrade for the pain in my ass this has been. Driving this weeee lil Scion around is worth the upgrade alone!

On my old Tundra they had to load balance them. When I looked there where very few places that had a Hunter load balance machine, might have changed by now but I can say after I had them done on a load balancer I had zero problems. Had it done on another vehicle and I can say smooth as glass well in excess of 100 mph :burnrubber::)

Just got a call from Toyota and this is what they are going to try and do.

If I wanted to change tires I'd be charged their cost to upgrade. $900

Yeah, no. So they have to pay for the force/load balancing. Maybe this will help, seems like a lot of money they're putting out for these tires. Was kinda hoping they'd just turf them!

Definitely won't be buying Firestone's any time soon. This is the fire time I've ever had them on one of my vehicles. I prefer Michelins, really wanted to try the KO2s.

Nope, they don't have a machine to do it. So they're sending it out, somewhere in Langley close to the dealer!

Independent garage. Something like $80 a tire!

I'm surprised they had to send them out. Just about every dealer in Regina has a Hunter Road Force setup. Certainly agree about getting them done right on a RF machine ... only way to go. My problem seems to be an alignment issue.

I don't know about you guys, but one of my biggest complaints about this truck is the LOCKING SEAT BELT. Every bump..lock. Trying to look in your mirror to merge? Locked. Anyone know if there is some sort of adjustment I can make?
