What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Plastic Dipped two wheel lip moulding and the front valance Anthracite Grey. Don't know if I should redip to black a leave them for Thinking of doing the inside of the cutouts in wheels the same color. will do the other side tomorrow. Black or Grey your opinion

Yes you are.

All 1st gen wheel bears are press in a a pita. I've read of many a 20 ton shop press loose it's life to the cause.

First stop for a clutch master cylinder was in the zone! Yes Autozone! Well the Chinese worker didn't understand threads. I had already taken the hydraulic clutch system apart. The threads didn't line up, or weren't cut correctly. I took the guts out of the chicom part and made a Frankenstein part combining the old cylinder and new. I drove for two days and finally found an oreileys auto for a second go around on this.
Humm.. Same made in chicom part at oreileys... What are the chances? Well you guessed it. threads are messed up on unit number two. Both parts at Autozone and Oreileys priced out at under 30 bucks. Toyota Dealership part was. 150.00 and feels like a new truck.

 

Why not get a matching set?

Wish I could put some TRD stickers on my truck... they won't stick to the bed liner.

 

How about airbrushed on lol?

 

Thought about making some kind of template then roll a different color bed liner on. Not sure if you could use spray paint, obviously the bedliner will last longer.

And I've only tried sticking a vinyl sticker on my rear bumper, Which is alot more rough then the bedsides or cab. So there may be a possibility I could get a sticker to stick.

 

I used to work for a vinyl sighn shop, with my experience with rough surfaces if you use a heat gun as you are putting it on it should bond to your truck.

Yeah it was cold when I was doing it. I let a propane heater set there to warm the surface up but... i should try again with a heat gun

 

Ya it would be a little time consuming cause you would need to go slow and kind of "melt" it on there slowly as you press it on.
