Got my fridge hard wired in tonight. Just need to decide home I'm going to mount the slide.

 

my fridge has a white light! i wonder why there's a bunch with blue ones!

I decided to install a 12v outlet behind the rear seats from my aux fuse block that's always on today. I'm thinking i might even just remove the rear seat behind the driver and build a platform attached to the seat bottom hinges for the fridge. it's a really great spot, with the fridge sitting in line with the truck length wise (temp gauge at the back) and there's lots of room to open the fridge door. Then I will retain 2 seats in the back (unlucky fourth person haha). The only downside i see is adding MORE weight to the driver side of the truck (gas tank, battery, driver) to potentially enhance that taco lean

 

I am kicking around the idea of mounting a aux fuse block in the bed of my truck so i can run some wire up to my OBA compressors, and the fridge but it seems like a lot of work.

 

Here is how I ran mine. I tested it outside the truck first



I ran 4gauge wire. I put a 80amp fuse at the ends by each battery

I'm using the cheaper blue sea 7611 (think that's the number). It does all the isolation but nothing complicated like using the aux battery for starting. No remote to worry about.

Tonight I added in a fuse block terminal. It has room for 12 devices. I will add :
Fridge
Led lights in the cap
Led light connector for the tent
Aux plug for compressor
2x usb charger

First time playing with car electrical. Prob $125 or so in parts ($175 with the fuse block). But man do I ever know my system end to end now!

 

A bit confused as to why a mount would have a quick release. Some of the off-roading I do would make me nervous about three little pins. I guess I'm installing the handles and using straps

 

Whats your plan for mounting all those goodies? Looks like you're on the right track.

 

Got my fridge today, which was ordered on Monday. Impressed how quick it shipped and got here. Thanks again @.45 JHP for setting this up. Looks like i will have a cold beer for ya at mod day after all.

 

Depending on how the plate holds once I build my slide I might just use straps as well. It will be nice having the plate for the fridge to clip into though and to prevent it from sliding around.

Got mine yesterday too. I'm so excited, no more beer sloshing around and busting while I'm wheeling

 

Someone mentioned earlier that they could NOT remove the mounting plate from the bottom of their fridge upon delivery. They had to unbolt the pins and use a screw driver to pop the pins out. My guess would be that one the plate was properly secured and handles are on the fridge it is going to take quite a bit of force to pop the fridge off the mount.

 

Almost wishing I'd have bought a smaller one so it'll fit under my bed cover...

 

That is the reason I went with the 41, didn't want anyone trying to borrow my new fridge!!!

 

Just cut a hole in the bed cover

 

Shit...why didn't I think of that!

Good thing I have a rollup cover so I guess I could leave it open...
