Just curious does anyone know of a bed rack that allows you to also use a trifold tanou at the same time. The reason I'm asking is I want a rtt but would like to use the trifold tanou cover to store camping gear in the bed out of the weather thanks in advance?

That's gonna be hard 2 reasons- 1st the height of the tri fold section as you fold them, you'll have to make sure the bed rack does not angle over below that height., 2nd the tri fold extends over onto the rails. When I did my roll up I sectioned it to make it more narrow. Completely inside the rails. You could consider a different tonneau that sits inside the rails. Otherwise if you have the bed rack made external you are going to have a gap under the tonneau at the tail gate if you mount the tonneau on on top of the rack base plates.

I was looking for something similar a while back. I have a fold a cover G4 cover and wanted to put a rack on top for the rtt but the cover sits so far on the rails that I only have room on the front end of the cover for a 1" tube to sit on the sides of the truck. I was contemplating cutting the cover(doesn't look too hard) or possibly finding a cover that is similar in lenght but shorter on the width then make my own rack to accommodate the height. But just wound up buying a shell haha

I have about two inches so I'm thinking if I overhang a little I can make it work.

I just realized you're talking about a 2016...whoops, but yes 2" should be enough for any tube to go vertical to clear the cover. I made a headache rack around my cover with only 1" sitting on the side of the bed and about 1/2" hanging over and have had no issues at all.

Lund roll up, it's rail system mounts inside bed rails. I chopped the head and tail rail to trim the width to adjust for the bed rack. Basically my mounting from outside in is: truck bed, bed rack, Lund rails, Toyota slider rails relocated inside of it all (I secure those the tonneau rails, and the bed rack together with longer bolts into the factory holes). With this arrangement I still have use of the factory slide cargo rails.

Let us know if you find one.......I've almost come to accept the fact that I'll probably have to alternate between rack and tonneau based on my needs for a given day/trip/task.

Does the cover have to be able to fold while the rack is in use?

I have the http://mobtownoffroad.com/product/soft-cover-bed-bars/ and think it is a great rack. It is to low to open the trifold while the rack is loaded, but the bars are removable to open the cover without removing the entire rack system.

I have it mounted on a 13' with a Pace Edwards retractable bed cover.

@Mobtown Offroad had said he was going to be doing a test fit on a 16'. Not sure if that happened yet.

It did happen. It required me to make a minor update so the rack works on both gens. Parts should be back from powder some time this week!

. . .aonsidering how Mobtown uses 80/20 extruded stuff there is some options maybe for hinges, side rails etc due to mobularity of 80/20. Look up https://www.8020.net/ and you will get it . . .need more coffee.

Would it work with a trifold cover?

It might, but youd only be able to open the first section. The sections of the cover would be too tall to pivot under the rack.
