The Pro is a better truck by far, I would avoid the 16's altogether.

I was going to say No, then I clicked on the link and thought, Wow, nice truck, maybe you should do it, then I saw the brown seats and thought, No way.
I typically like brown leather, but it just don't fit in with anything else in the cabin, or the outside color.
Bottom line is, what I am trying to say; there are many things for and many things against a decision like this, so it is a tough choice.
I would say since you realize that you are an impulse buyer, pay special attention to that and don't be afraid to walk away to go think about it again.

dramatic much? You really think the line between an ugly truck and a nice truck lies between the 2016 Tacoma limited and the 2016 Tacoma off road? Just a different twist on the same thing. I still say keep the 15 pro.

I would say yes, due to the door panels. The seats could have been a better tone, but those door panels are awful. So, I would agree, The OR would be a better choice.

No effing way in hell would I ever trade a 2nd gen anything for a 3rd. The 2nd gen is a proven drive train and truck, the 3rd gen not so much. I would consider trading my second gen in for a third when they come out with the diesel. Which they will... The fact that Mike Sweers says there will never be a Tacoma diesel tells me there will absolutely be a diesel... Because as we have learned in recent months, Mike Sweers is an asshole liar.

If you want the 16, sell your truck in the private market and you'll do much better than the trade in, probably by a few thousand smackers.

Truth... If you're going to give up a TRD Pro to go 3rd gen you might as well get a 2017 TRD Pro when it comes out...

No, you're just interpreting the comments that way. We're bad mouthing the limited saying it looks ugly (one person said that) and that it financially is going to burn him by trading a near brand new 2015 to move to a 2016.

I'm bashing the idea of trading a 2015 only because I think the Pro was a great truck and the Limited is just a tarted up SR5 with leather and heated seats. It's not really comparable to a pro. I'd have the same opinion if we're talking about two 2nd gens or two 3rd gens.

Like others said, OP's money, but I wouldn't do it.

Trade in at dealer for a model 1 yr newer is never a win. Especially with the 3rd gen mania going on at dealers. Not 3rd gen bashing. Just wait for 2017. Still 3rd gen, no?

You really need to go back and ready again... words like "ugly" and "gawdy" don't strike you as bashing ? And more than one person used the word "ugly".

Whatever.... I'm getting so used to it from 2nd gen owners it's really to the point I'm just going to write it off as typical message board behavior.

I would imagine the dealer would turn around and try and sell his TRD Pro for a good $33,000 if it's a fairly low mile truck. It would sell for that too fairly quickly I'd bet.

That's why I said "opinions", and yes I did read it. Did I interpret it as bashing a 3rd gen, hell no.

The word ugly was used to describe the looks of the seats and door panels. The truck is a nice truck, just the choice of interior colors/design could have been different. That's not bashing, that is just stating an opinion and that is what the OP asked for.

Right. I'm pretty sure OP asked for everyone's opinion.

I mean, if you were on the design team and helped sculpt the 3rd gen, then I'm sorry that we thought your work was ugly... That would be offensive.

They're opinions man, and the same crowd would probably be the same ones to say that a TRD pro is a waste of money because it can be done for less with an SR5 and a lift, or that the 2nd gen interior is dated and plasticky.

If you let those things bother you, your'e going to have a bad day every time you get on this forum. We're a bunch of people with opinions, they mean nothing, try not to let them get to you. We don't have enough room for any more people upset over what other people think, this forum already has far too many like that.
