Takes up room in the bed, I don't have much already... BAMF charges an extra $150 for that

Finally got in touch with VMI off road, same company who built @DefconBrix's old trailer. Probably going to have them do a few things if I go through them since they are pros :spy:

Thats not bad, I went and talked to them a last year about a trailer, they are impressive, but its hard to give that much money away for a box of metal that you sleep in a tent on top of. I would love to have one, but I think i would rather build my own.

Headed up next Tuesday to VMI off road to get the bed rack planned out. Also I'm having a minor back surgery next Friday which means no gear install for me.. Mule made me a deal and to me it's worth it, so that's happening 2 weeks from tomorrow. Can't wait for it all to go through

You are TOO young for back surgery...
You have to go thru mid-life crisis first: buy a red corvette, join the hair club for men, have a 2nd/3rd wife, get reader glasses, prostate exams, cough while looking left, can't remember the other ones...

    EDIT: go to Dr. Snips...

My truck is my red corvette  but they are just cutting a nerve that keeps pinching and redoing a scar. Never have a dermatologist take a mole off your skin, always go to a surgeon...

Damn dude. All said and done you'll be looking at like 5k for gears and lockers with install huh?

Also- any reason you're opposed to the CBI bed rack? I poked around theirs at NWOR last year and it's pretty damn cool. And can be aluminum.

    **Edit
Just read the last page. Too tall I guess.

Be prepared for the price at VMI dude. Custom fab is freaking EXPENSIVE even if their labor is cheap. I bet that'll be well over 20 hours with design and fabrication. I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to 30, or even 40!

Had the guy who built my rack charged me for truly every hour he worked it would have been much, MUCH more expensive. Doing a one off build is a slowwww process.

ALSO for your sPOD. Hit up Torfab. My buddy Vitaly does all the electrical stuff up there and he's a wizard. Your shit will be CLEAN.

So Brandon will do a DIY weld rack with steel, but not aluminum. It would be shipped bare metal.

Avid has a modular bed bar set also. Its what makes up my current rack setup with basket. There is a 3 bar RTT version and he will set it at what rise you require also.

No, i don't have one. It depends on what you want and that would mean you talk with him.
My goal was to see if Avid will provide a DIY full rack or if you are looking for more of a low profile bed bar. It all depends on what you want to mount on it. Rotopax require a 11" rise I believe but hi lifts and tools can get by with 7".
I think my #s are correct but dont quote me.

After I return the cores it'll come to about $3100 for gear and lockers, plus $300 for Mule to install (they made me a deal and that also includes the $70 ARB manifold kit), to me its worth it for that price especially since ill have stitches in my back.

I did look at CBI and do like the design but its a bit tall for me. If they cut out the gaps on top/bottom of the center plate on the side then that would lower it to the height Im going for. CBI is the only vendor on here that'll make an Aluminum bed rack now.

It may be more expensive but it may turn out really bad ass, again we'll just see what they come up with I don't have to go with them yet. They quoted my dad last year at just over $2k for a custom folding wakeboard tower and lights on our boat so it may not end up being too much. Also they can get it done sooner than if i went through a vendor.

Last I heard TorFAB is still booked like 2 months out, good for them but thats a long time. My wiring is pretty bad, literally don't have any more room to hook anything up to my battery right now.

Going to have one of the surgeons I work with cut a nerve that keeps getting pinched, and also redo a scar on my back. Nothing big but still going under the knife. Same anesthetic as when I got my wisdom teeth out, not completely put out but sedated.

Dang thats too bad. Going aluminum though for sure.
