Have we decided on a meet in March yet? There's the bbq meet and Hidden Falls. I'm down for both. Just tell me where and when.

Nice, if it didn't have rock chips in the paint, it would look even better.

Looking for a new place to get that PreRunner not stuck?

I could see us doing Blacks on April 2nd (giving two weeks to recover from Hidden Falls). How does Lockhart and Black's BBQ sound for an April 2nd "meet-n-greet-n-eat-some-meat?"

Hmmm, I just looked at them on Google Maps and there is a large parking lot a block over we can all park in...

I thought you said you had a prerunner - have I (#1) been misled, or (#2) didja pull one over on me?

    #2 isn't all that hard.

Heart of Texas is doing a HF run April 1-2, just a heads up. I might drive down for it.

Ohey that's me. I'll warn people here with a 2WD. I'm fine with it, I've gone out in my old Tundra with 2WD. But even in a scenic run you're going to need to get winched at least twice between North Pole and North Peak. We can do a more down hill run at first, but if you're on a factory 2WD with an open rear diff and anything less than mud/Rock tires, you're not going to have a fun trip and slow everyone else down, I'm just trying to say it now before the park guides tell you.

I don't mean to sound like an ass, and if you're in a 2WD locked in the rear with some balls you'll be fine for a scenic run. And even if you want to come out in a 2WD just to meet and greet then ride along with someone with a 4x4, I'd highly encourage that as well, there's honestly something for everyone. But I plan on trying trails like Jodys Revenge while I'm there, probably in the evening, and you'll have to ride along for trails as such.

If you're in a factory 4x4 with zero experience, PLEASE come out! There's nothing better than getting people involved in off roading! Better learn the ropes surrounded by skilled drivers with winches in a controlled environment than in Big Bend with your wife and kids and dogs and grandmother and who knows who else in the truck with no way out!

I did a quick Google search and found some highly rated places. I haven't had to have any major work done on a car in the last 10 years (since I got rid of Ford), and that was in San Antonio, so I'd have to trust to the Interwebs unless someone else here "knows a guy."

Is there specific work that you need done, or are you just looking for a name because "in case shit happens" actually happens?

I probably won't be doing the Hidden Falls thing, I'm 4x4 but bought the Limited since I didn't plan on rock crawling and just needed it for out at the ranch and other places like my property up in Fairfield. I'll still be making all of the meets we have as a group though, like the proposed Lockhart location for our next meet up. Truck is still new and don't want any abuse on it yet either.

I'm pretty sure I'm going for the OME setup 2.5-3". Hard-pressed to decide between that and a Bastrop Supertop.

Edit: I just ordered a CB setup. I ordered the Cobra 19DX IV, 18' RG-58A/U coaxial cable with PL-259 connectors, Firestik SS-174 Stainless Steel Hood/Trunk channel mount and the Firestik FL3-B 3' FireFly antenna with the tuneable tip. Anyone around have the swr thingie to tune it?
