The Poly tube is pretty thick and it is roto molded so that has two +'s going for it. And I do not think that a static load of 8lbs is enough to crack it. AND I don't think I would be running that the whole time. Only in dusty, heavy rain, or snow.

It's my understanding that the prefilter is only used for dust. For Heavy rain and snow the snorkel head should be turned around.

Hahaha well unfortunalty I can only give you an educated opinion but maybe we should ask @dan0mite @Iggy. Or @MattB77 what they think it could hold.

You have a company from Australia that is always sunny, you would think they would test longevity in the plastic. This is a UV stable plastic. You could always paint it with a UV stable paint to help.

I think I read some where that unless your going under 20mph the head should never be turned around. It will creat a dead zone in it.

Yeah I've head this argument before, I have several friends who run snorkel and flip them backwards. No issue at all. Safari says no, ever other snorkel says yes flip it around. Heavy snow can get packed inside the snorkel head and the way the prefilter is designed it would pack in there too.

While I don't have a 8 pound prefilter on mine, I did run outside to check how sturdy the snorkel is mounted to the truck. I gave it 6-7 very firm pulls/shakes and the whole truck moved with each one. The snorkel didn't budge one bit... While this snorkel is massive, it is also very heavy and thick, so my opinion is that it'll hold the prefilter without issue.
