The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

Joined yesterday, got the call late afternoon truck is in (Ordered 1-26-16). DCSB Limited 4x4 will be picked up this afternoon. Really enjoying members on this forum, been checking it out since 2016's came out. Bought first Toy truck for $10,400.00 1986 and drove it until 2009 (Long bed 2WD manual). Gave it to my daughter who drove it until she sold it late 2014 for $4800.00 (Hawaii) I'll be back on with pics soon.

 

If you had to special order, how long did it take for Toyota to "accept" your order?

 

It was not a special order. If I wanted a red Limited (in Phoenix AZ) I had to order it or move to whichever Toyata plant that makes it and get a job there. My sales guy was short on details but kind of touched base once a week until yesterday's "The truck is here, when can you come in?".

I've put together a deal on a DCSB TRD OR with a manual transmission. They've told me 2 to 6 months, but Toyota must first "Accept" the order and give them a time frame for production/ delivery.

 

Just got word that my truck was switched to a trailer headed to the dealership. Should either be here today or tomorrow!

I am located in eastern PA what about you? I got word that tomorrow is the day but my salesman is off (of course) so I will probably get picking up Saturday morning.

 

I dunno if this counts but I saw a AD online for a 2016 DCSB SR5 4X4. I went by the dealer without calling 1st, just showed up to look at it, the salesman went looking for it and told me it's still on the trailer! So I waited about 45 mins for them to unload it. I'm the first to test drive it and took it home the next day. I didn't have to pay destination fee.

Tow package, black interior with red accents, sidesteps and stainless exhaust tip. It's like he ordered it just for me.

 

Got it last night and drove to work this morning. So long Waiting thread!

Just ordered an SR DCSB 4x4 MGM with convenience and tow packages and dark wheels. The dealer said 6-8 weeks, maybe sooner. I'm not holding my breath for sooner, but I'm excited!

 

I'm sitting here drumming my fingers anxiously awaiting delivery. Should be in next week, but feels like an eternity! Hurry Up!!

 

My dealership said the 'estimated manufacture date is the 10th of March.'

Does this mean it'll be finished by the 10th or started?

This is the date it was born. My truck had a manufacture date of 2/15 and will be here between 3/3 and 3/6 according to dealer daily.

 

3 days for me. That just means Toyota acknowledged your order. About a week after that you'll get a build date. A couple of days after your build date you'll get a VIN and spec sheet. This is where you'll find out what accessories were put on during the build. Most are small. The truck that I ordered came with all weather matts and mudd flaps (That were not in my original specs). Of course you can tell the dealer that you don't want those but they will tell you to fly a kite and the person behind you will buy the truck and you'll be left to order another truck.

 

Just got off phone with dealer 3-2 to 3-5 delivery date! Build date was 2/15. Almost done with this thread...
