rough ride after the 5100's, whats next?

    Probably take atleast half an inch out.

    My shell with the 3 leaf AAL installed in my 3 leaf OEM pack made me level with 5100s at 1.75".

    The downside of that was any extra weight in the bed or being towed made me ass low and nose high, which really sucked. That's why I went with a better leaf pack and lifted the front more to accommodate a higher rear.

    I have a 1989, 18'5" Startos 285 Pro, with a 200 Johnson on the back that weighs 3,250 pounds with my normal load. I've towed that thing over 2 dozens times when my truck was stock (2007 Sport DCSB). I think you'll be fine with a progressive 3 leaf AAL.

    If you set your front shocks at 1.75 it's going to give you more than the 1.6" of travel you originally mentioned. In that case you'll have to go with an OME/Dakar leaf pack for the back, which will give you great towing capacity but lift your rear almost 3". Now you're talking longer u-bolts, brake lines, etc and about $600 more out of pocket.

    The lift I was speaking of uses toytec coils with shocks set at 0, that they claim will only lift front 1.6". Really just want to make sure the thing ends up with good road manners and no vibrations. Don't want the nicest vehicle I have ever had to end up with a bunch of problems.

    Yes, as I said I have that lift on my truck. 1.6" in the front with Eibach (Toytec branded) springs and the 5100s set at 0. Also have 5100s in the back (set at 0) with the standard Toytec AAL, which gives me 2" of lift. To answer your question- this will give you a great ride with no problems and should be enough to occasionally haul your 3200 lb camper.

    You don't need extended brake lines with Dakars.

    Ubolts yes, but that's it.

    Average lift height is 2.75".

    hey guys.....im back again. getting closer to making a decision. so as i said earlier, I have the 5100's all around, with the fronts set at 1.75, pretty much completely leveling the truck. If i get the 885's, and set the billys to 0, will that keep me level? how about with the 884's?

    2011 DCSB, TRD OR, 5100's, 885's 285/75r16 Cooper STT PROs.
    If you're still sitting at stock height in the rear, 885X's will cause you to be WAY high in the front. I did 2" lift in the rear (with 885's in front) to get the rear just a tic higher than the front. I did have 1" blocks prior to the 885's, and they left the rear end a bit LOW once the 885's were installed....


    Someone with specific experience with 884's can comment on that.....

    Maria from headstrong off-road recommended for my 2015 TRD sport double cab 5100's set at 0 and 884 springs and that made my truck level. Very pleased with it. Maybe this will help you.

    Yes, They put the spacer in for the lean. I have about 2000 miles on the truck since it was done and it is still sitting level.

    Yes, Everything came mounted together all I had my mechanic do was change out all my shocks and put the new ones on. And then took in for alignment. No problem with anything. No vibrations.

    I also kept my factory ones together incase I would ever change it back. But I don't see that happening.

    ok, one last thing to fit everything together. right now you have bilstiens all around, with the fronts set at 0, and 884 coils, with the OME trim packer? What do you have going on in the back?

    Did you use the OME trim packer with the 5100's?

    There was some disagreement earlier in the thread that the OME trim packer doesn't work with the 5100's.
