I installed mine yesterday and after a high pressure water test, it definitely exceeded my expectations as far as leakage was concerned.

    2 things i'll be changing.

    1. I don't like the 'solid fold 2.0' bubble sticker - so I ordered these to put where the old sticker was. I hope it matches well.

    s-l500.jpg

    2. Since I only use the upper part of the bracket mounts, i'm thinking of grinding off the rest, and powder coating them black along with the hardware and backing plate -- just so they look a little more uniform with the bed.

Had the same idea about grinding off the bottom. No reason to have a giant piece of metal hanging down catching on something, tearing a hole, or generally looking auspicious in my otherwise pristine truck bed ;)

I've had mine on my second gen for years and love it. One thing I'd say be careful of is when you're folding it all the way up; make sure the handles are completely recessed. Otherwise it'll dent the 1/3rd by the cab. Enough people have folded mine up without paying attention and have really dented mine

Now I know where my dents came from. You got a photo. You can't see mine yet but they're there

Was going to write the same exact thing! Be VERY careful folding this cover up. I have a huge dent in mine now as the latches can flip up and seriously dent the first panel.

The only other things that sucks about this other than not sealing very well is the muscle it takes and awkward angle to pull the poles down far enough to latch to the metal hook that holds it down. This is sometimes a huge pain in the @$$. The OEM one is much easier with its simple hand pull locks.

    Good luck!

Check out where the dings were on mine and they don't line up with handle. No idea how they got there. Those latches see tight but the spring loading are better than similar ones without

The key to this is to use the second set of bracket holes to mount the tailgate end brackets a little higher. Mine was so tight using the upper bracket holes for mounting that I had to use 2 hands. Now it is easy 1 hand operation.

only caveat to this is that from the outside, you can pull up on the cover.

I love my 2.0 i solved the security by getting a set of the thumb screws that are in the front and replacing the spring loaded one in back as stated before can't stop a thief but with these no way to lift up the back

My 2.0 has developed some soft spots 2 are by the panel nearest the cab. By the clamps underneath. Thought I might have not put the tail clamps in all the way when folding leaving the dents but they don't line up at all. Then I noticed another one by the section on the tailgate. Anybody else experience this?

Extang has a pretty decent warranty - http://www.extang.com/solid-fold-folding-tonneau-covers2.html

Call them up, see if it's a known issue.

Hi, just got a new Tacoma three weeks ago, found and joined this forum. This is my first post.

I installed an Extang Solid 2.0 cover early this week. Here are some pictures. They show the installation and alignment are fine.

The Bay Area got heavy rain today. The vehicle was hit while parked outside and on the way home (30-mile highway). I opened up the truck and inspected the leaking situation when I got home. Here are the pictures. Leaking happened at front corners and rear sides. The cause of the side leaking is the hinge section.

The leaking seems not very severe. But it definitely leaks. I would like to hear your opinions.
