Hey everyone! First post on here. I'm the proud new owner of a magnetic grey DCLB sport. My question may seem strange but I can't seem to find any info. When I first picked my truck up I showed up to the dealership around 8:00 pm.. It was dark and the lot was huge. As the sales man and I walked around trying to find where it was parked, he (I think) simply pushed the unlock button or lock maybe... And the truck beeped one time and lit up only the LED lights inside the headlight housing. I'll never forget seeing it light up for the first time! However... My question is, not once since then have I ever gotten the lights to come on apon me locking or unlocking the truck from any distance. I've tried leaving the light switch in every position, still nothing. Is there some sequence with the key fob that will illuminate the led lights or was this just some magical interaction I had with my truck for the first time! Thanks in advance
    John

I think you need to change something in the settng to make it work. But by default it should light up when you unlocked/locked your truck. Check your manual.

If the truck is locked, the inside light should go on as you walk up to it, at least that is how mine works.. But it does this only when its dark out, I noticed, must be a sensor.

It's jus strange that it did it the first time I ever saw the truck be unlocked.. Which wouldn't be the first time ever it was locked cause it had probably been moved half a dozen times just at the dealer alone before I ever saw it but yet when I went 3 miles down the road. Went into a store, came out it never did it again. I've been trying to duplicate it ever since haha. I've also tried when it's dark just incase it was a sensor. Still nothing. I'll check the settings but I know I never changed anything since day one.

And just to be clear I'm only referring to the led strip inside the headlights. From what I recall the blinkers only flashed once and horn chirped only once (so typical, single door unlock) but the led strip was on for a solid 10 seconds while we walked over to it from across the lot.

Never saw this happen with mine, but I'm more than interested to have it work. Maybe hit "lock" and then "unlock" on key fob? I'll check out out after work, play with the settings on the stereo.

I had an issue last night with the DRLs when I got back to my truck I switched them on, but they didn't light up, but would with the other headlight options "parking lights" and "headlights". They worked done when I got home, hopefully just an isolated one-time occurrence.

Is the DRL's turned on at the turn signal stalk? Also he may have touched the driver door handle to unlock it. I never use the fob. Also it may not do the DRL's unless it is dark outside.

He didn't touch the driver handle. He did the unlock from about 40-50 yards away. I've also duplicated this at dark from the same distance. Tried every combination of lock unlock again and again... Nothing !!!! It's the strangest thing. The drl are turned on and I already checked my stereo setting.

This has never happened to mine. Was it perhaps a reflection or something from the lot lights?

I'll have to plug the Toyota laptop into my truck and see if theres some settings I can adjust that aren't available on the various menus inside the truck

I'm going off my memory on the beep part. However I've never been more sure in my life that they came on and staid on until he got up to the truck. I'll check the manual and see... Maybe there if some certain sequence with the fob that does this... I just can't get over that nobody else has seen this for them selves... I was hoping to come on here and get casted out for being a newb... Lol
