Disconnect the rods and see if it will turn at all it may well have a damaged a piston. It is also possible for the crank to be broken don't under estimate the amount of damage hydolocking an engine can do.

    1UZ is stronger internally.

Strong mechanical binding to rod or piston being jammed.

A little oil down the spark plug holes might help, but doubt it.

Swap in a used 2TR, and tear down this one for fun.

If I had the money to put a used 2tr in it is put a used 1uz. But this happened at the worst possible time financially. 2uz on eBay is $800 and the transmission is $350

So if I have to do a swap the used 2uz and transmission is cheaper initially than a used 2tr but how much in extra expenses would I have to add in.

Any time you swap engines that don't match the existing wiring/computer mounts etc. you are looking at a lot of expense and time.

So I'm going to pull the motor this Saturday. Looks like some bluing on the balancing shaft. I'm thinking that's what's seized. Fingers crossed that can all be fixed without having to do a complete rebuild. :fingerscrossed:

Thanks. Just looking it looks like there is some bluing in the balancing shaft so that could be what's seized. Like I said pulling it out Saturday and going to start tearing it apart to find the problem.

You probably seized a bearing on the crank shaft if that what you are referring to as "balancing shaft"
I did that on my car, most likely will require a new crank shaft, and replacement of the rods, if you seized the bearings, the rods got hot and probably egged. They machine crank shafts to the engine, its hit or miss if you will have engine problems in the future if you go with replacing that. The replacement shaft isnt worn into that engine, itll be worn into some other engine you took it out of. Problem free future fix, new engine. Post pics of that you say got discolored and we can help mas.

I went through this on my car. Replaced the crank shaft and rods, and encountered problems less than a year down the line. Ended up having to get a second engine. I also drive it like I stole, it, my tinker toy, fully built, my taco is my daily.

Not sure how these things correlate?

Do you mean driving too fast in water too deep?

Or was there an actual wall involved? o_O

Balancing shaft is something different. It is not the crank shaft.

2AZ has balancing shafts as well. Notorious for spinning their bearings. However. Just worked on a 2RZ engine making a strange noise. Spun the bearings in one of the counter balance shafts. Did not seize the engine.

Cranks in these engines aren't machined specifically to the block. Cam bearing caps are with their head.
Various bearing sizes can be purchased to achieve the proper clearances between crank journals and main caps, as well as rod to rod journals.
