Just to have a welding machine available around the house to tack or repair stuff, is the $130 flux core machine from Northern Tool or Harbor Freight ok?

Says 80 amp at 115v, 20% duty cycle. I've only got standard 115v outlet available to run one.

 

I've got a nice ass Miller I'll sell you.

Also, I've decided to go with the 2.5 factory series w/ resi.

With the TW discount, they go from 1600 to 1360, and the non resi was 1300 reg price (1125 after discount). so I talked heather into 1300ish being acceptable.

Cant wait to install (hopefully I can just rebuild these as needed and not buy new ones for a while)

That was the first welder I ever bought. Got it when I was 16 along with their hydraulic pipe bender and GSM was born with me and my buddy building a 6 point roll cage in his supra (first drift supra we built). It worked but it didn't last long. I'd say if you actually follow the 20% duty cycle then it may last longer then mine

 

I am going through DSMS and they are the extended ones. What is this about valving and how do I get them to do it for me and what settings do I request?

 

The lift I'm going to get is Bilstein 6112 with 700# springs up front with Toytec's top mount for a true 3" lift and Bilstein 5160 for the rear with dakars. Hoping to order it after my house sells now lol. But the way things are going I'll be lucky to actually be able to order it.

 

Call them when you order. They are smarter then me so I will let them help you. Tell them what you do with your truck. I told them I drive on the street and all my offroading is 20 mph or less on woody, rocky, muddy trails. Tell them how much weight you carry (tube bumper, skids, v6 and they will know what spring rate you have. That info will give them what they need for the right shim stack to get your rebound/compression somewhat right.
