washing under wheel wells

    So on my old tundra I could spray up under the fender flares and literally wash the salt and debris away with my hand or a rag. The tacoma has a plastic cover.

    How do you wash out the Fenders so nothing gets trapped?

    so just push it between the plastic and metal, while using a hose.

    Yes exactly. Between fender and fender flare. I see little drain holes, but not enough to spray water through.

    You can't even purposely get water in there. What makes you think anything else can? I suppose over time it could rust away but I'm sure you've moved onto another vehicle by then.

    Oh, water can get in and out. It just looks impossible to clean. After the frame the number one place I see trucks rust is rear fenders.

    You assume I pay all the depreciation on a vehicle then sell it. Simply not true for me. Bought my tundra in 2005 and kept it till now. Assuming the tacoma is reliable I really don't plan on selling it. I will have it till retirement or it will end up in one of my children's hands.

    Only reason I sold tundra was due to family growing and I did not have 4wd. If I w old have had a double cab 4x4 I would have kept it. The engine was very smooth and powerful.

    You are probably the only person I have seen ask about this. There is no way to clean without pulling the flare off. Don't know I have seen any pics of rotten fenders.
